Special teams the difference so far. Howards been solid, Abdelkader has been ******* phenomenal. He should throw the body like he is tonight, every game. Love it, one more period and were hot on Columbus' tail.

Well, if Dallas lose tonight it'll pretty much be down to us and Columbus for 8th. Who would've guessed that.

If Columbus and Dallas both lose tonight, then it's solely in the Wings hands to make the playoffs. No excuses, but if the aforementioned should win tonight, I'm not so confident. I know Howard will bounce back Saturday in Vancouver and we've played well against them all year, and still have 3 home games remaining. It looks really good on paper, lets see how it plays out.

I'm kind of torn on this subject. The Joe Louis crowd loves Todd Bertuzzi, he energizes the building just stepping out onto the ice. And if he fights, or throws a big hit the place goes up. And that's huge in the postseason. Then there's Sammy, everyone is pretty sure he'll be gone in the summer, he hasn't had a chance to show if he still has any game because of injuries. Helms status is out for the year, so I'll leave it at that. Babs will have decisions to make if the boys ever get healthy enough to play.

Moneys not bad. With the cap expected to rise every year, he'll seem like a bargain soon. Hopefully this doesn't effect the teams views on Mrazek. He needs, maybe one more season in the AHL and then he should be brought up to compete. Then our goaltending will be stellar. My only thing with Howard is he's yet to prove he can play in the playoffs. Ozzie was a playoff goalie, not as good in the regular season. Howard is kind of the opposite as of now, and I realize the team isn't what it used to be and isn't a guarantee to make the dance, but if we get in I hope Howard answers the challenge. I don't expect him to carry us to the cup, but not being the reason we lose no matter how deep we get will be a start.

Not a good game. Unfortunate break that Nyquist couldn't get the spinarama to go, but thems the breaks. Howard has nightmares about the Sharks, thank god we're moving to the East because we just can't beat those guys anymore. Gotta move on quickly, gonna be in tough tomorrow against the Hawks.

I can't see us giving him enough money because some foolish team would offer him some serious cheddar if he's bought out based on his name and reputation. A 1 yr deal at 2.5/3 mil would be worth it to see if he has anything left as a "star" forward but that wouldn't get it done.

If we don't get Helm and Bertuzzi back soon, we're done for. We absolutely need more depth up front, we have to generate more offense and get in on the fore check harder. The Wings are too much of a soft, perimeter team right now to compete. Time to dig deep or we won't be in the dance.

Not pretty, but 2 points. Our top 6 is a bit messy right now, what with Abby (even though he had a great game) and Miller in it. Still, solidly in 6th for now. Need some points on the upcoming road trip, and who knows if we'll have some reinforcements by then.

Purely speculation on my behalf but I saw a tweet earlier today about Jason Pominville (BUF) being asked for a list of 8 teams he wouldn't be traded too. Now Kenny comes out saying he'd have interest in a top 6 forward. I remember Kenny and Darcy Regier being pretty good buddies.. All in all good to hear Kenny saying something other then "we like our team". Now we'll see if anything goes down on Wednesday.

I dunno what Babs has put into Tootoos head, but I don't like it. He isn't playing like Tootoo anymore, he's playing like Emmerton. He needs to run around, hit everything in sight and fight if someone challenges him. That's his purpose, especially in a blow out like this.
