Wouldn't mind overpaying for a real top 6 forward to play with Datsyuk. Franzen has been brutal today, at least Abby is hustling and bangin around, so I can't harp on him to much.

I wouldn't be surprised at that. Kindl keeps getting better and more comfortable, and DeKeyser will only get better as well. Lashoff's a young guy too, it's a good problem to have after everyone wrote us off when Lidstrom retired.

Well going forward the next few years with Kronwall, Ericsson, Smith, DeKeyser, Lashoff and Kindl were looking pretty good. Adding another #2/3 would really shore up the D. I know Q started to play better after the bad start to the year, but I don't believe he's the answer. Plus a right handed shot wouldn't hurt.

It came out that Boston indeed had a better offer on the table, but Iginla chose Pittsburgh and tied Feasters hands. We had no shot at him, maybe years ago with Lidstrom patrolling the backline Iggy would've been interested.

Too bad Phillys too far out to sneak in at 8th, wouldn't that be something. As much as I love Iggy, I wish him nothing but the worst as a member of the Penguins. If the Cup Final this year is Chicago-Pittsburgh, I'm quitting this hockey thing and becoming a full time Lions fan

If we land DeKeyser, and the rumors of Iggy wanting to hammer out a contract extension with whatever team he's dealt too, then I'm all in for getting him here. Adding Iggy to the top 6 puts us amongst the elite in the West, we've proven we can play with Anaheim and Chicago, Datsyuk and Zetterberg aren't getting any younger. Finally our young players are developing in bunches, and we have the depth to deal some of them. (I.E. lose a Nyquist for example, well Jarnkrok is in GR next year)

Nice pickup for them. But if Morrow got a top prospect and a draft pick, I wonder what the price for Iginla is now. Someone is going to have to massively overpay to acquire him now I'd say.

Really hope Toots isn't scratched. A game in Anaheims barn will be physical and hard fought, we'd need some push back. Howard needs a bounce back game, no better time then against one of our rivals. Go wings!

Well at least that takes them out of the DeKeyser sweepstakes. Hopefully we can step up and grab him soon, gonna be a good one.

Can't wait for Helm. Having him and Tootoo in the line-up at the same time will give us a physical presence we haven't seen since probably 2008. Should be fun to watch.

All that skill in the line-up last night really paid off. Gustavsson was far from the reason we lost, but he's starting to resemble the hot mess in the crease that had Leafs fans pulling out their hair for years. Hope he can get it together.

Be interesting to see how tonight goes. Virtually no grit in the line-up, but a ton of skill with Nyquist in and Fil back. Hope it pays off, I guess.

We desperately need some reinforcements up front. Howard and the defense are starting to settle in, but we have no depth up front. Abby and Dano are playing too much, Tatar isn't getting a real shot. We need Fil and Helm to get the team speed up and give us more depth up front. Whenever Bert is healthy will help too, Sammy can fly down south and sleep on the beach for the rest of the year as far as I'm concerned, rather have Andersson/Tatar/Eaves/Miller/Emmerton in the line-up over him when everyone is healthy.

Until we get a few more bodies back up front, I'd like to see: Brunner-Zetterberg-Franzen Tatar-Datsyuk-Eaves Miller-Andersson-Cleary Abdelkader-Emmerton-Tootoo Change things up a bit, and potentially give us a decent crash and bang line as well as get some faster guys with Datsyuk.

Kindl's really impressed me the past 4 games. Since Babs challenged him to be better, he has been. Hasn't over skated any pucks like is usually the norm for him, no terrible glaring turnovers of memory and he's starting to get physical. Threw a great hit against the Hawks along the wall. After seeing Ericssons game develop so much this season, I think I'm riding Kindl this year. I've been critical of him since he joined the team full time in 09/10 and was battling Salei (RIP) for the 6th spot, but maybe he's just a late bloomer too. The current 6 D as it is, is really exciting. And it's hard to believe I'm saying that after Nick left this off-season haha.

Clarkson would be a dream. The guys is proving he's a 30 goal scorer, who hits and fights, and he's not exactly playing with world class centermen in Jersey. He'd have a chance at 40 on Datsyuks wing if he can get 30 with Elias/Zajac/Henrique

So what to do with Ian White then? I think Babs sent a clear message to him by playing Kindl twice with the full defense corps as opposed to getting White a game. Trade him? I like White, but he doesn't scream he's the kind of player who'd be alright sitting more times then not and waiting for a chance. With Colaiacovos return on the horizon as well, it leaves even more questions about Whites status with the team.
