Report: NHL may cancel Winter Classic by November if no CBA deal
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to a topic in General
The lockout is all because of money. Now there talking about the event that would bring in the most money of the NHL season. Foolish, getting tired of this stuff already and were only a week in. -
Sucks that were going to lose hockey, again. But as a guy who lives in an AHL city I cannot wait to see the AHL action this season. The Ice Caps were quite good last season, and seeing teams like the Griffins, Oil Barons, Marlies, Astros and Norfolk on occasion will be fantastic hockey.

Report: Wings close to signing Carlo Colaiacovo
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
At they end of the day, he played on the top pair for 2nd place team in the Western conference. If we sign him for that price, he's a steal and he will help our defence. -
In the playoffs he was, never got a lick of support in those years. 2002-2003 Red Wings 4 0 4 0 10 120 .917 2.08 2003-2004 Red Wings 9 4 4 1 12 197 .939 1.39 Probably the best stats a goalie who never made it past the 2nd round ever had haha.
-
They can have him. He's terrible.
-
He's soft and not the best defensively, but would probably flourish in our system and could probably fill Nick's offensive numbers.
-
if you had to pick one player in the current roster.......
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Motown4013's topic in General
After reading an article in mlive today, and he's not on the current roster, but he is on the payroll I'm gonna go with Jiri Fischer. After reading how much he misses the game, I just think it's a damn shame that he wasn't able to finish his career. 6'5, could move the puck, mean as hell and was just turning into a star. Could we ever use him today, plus he's an absolute stand up dude, met him a few years ago and chatted for 20 minutes with a complete stranger. Classic Red Wing -
Great offseason for Minnesota, still no chance to compete for a Cup. Why do you still post here?
-
For 500k it'd be worth a shot sure, otherwise hell nahhh. It's been 4 years since he was an average defenseman in the NHL, and probably about 5 years since he was above average, that's a long time.

Kesler, Fleury, Keith, Phaneuf, Vanek, Havlat, Backes.

RUMOR: Wings have made an offer to Carlo Colaiacovo
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to chances14's topic in General
Yes please. If we aren't going to make a deal, better to get the best d-man left on the market. Hope it gets done. -
Taylor Hall gets $42m 7 year deal with Oilers
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
Oh, of course not. All I meant to say is that's the reasoning behind this deal. -
Taylor Hall gets $42m 7 year deal with Oilers
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
I would think a Wings fan would understand the premise behind this as Holland does it all the time. Paying for potential, if Hall can stay healthy and keep progressing this will be a steal in a season or two. -
Never liked Marian Hossa before or after he was in the D. Jason Williams because he was so damn soft and useless, and for a Canadian he didn't have a lick of compete in him.

Should Kronwall have to answer the bell for his hits?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
Pair Kronwall with Smith. Then after a big hit, you sure as hell will get an answer from Brendan, Kronwall is too important now to be fighting, plus I bet he'd be a terrible fighter. (Kesler sucks) -
Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
You try to argue that Kronwall isn't a #1, well what exactly is Suter then? Because he sure as f*** hasn't proven himself as a #1 either yet. But, you like to tell all of us on this site we have no clue about hockey and that because Mr Suter didn't sign in Detroit that we are no longer a premier spot for FA's. Man, people like you make me laugh. What do you have to offer to the table? You can argue with anyone of us, but in the end you'll lose. Because your ridiculous opinions are based on beliefs that your favorite team with no history are better then an original 6 team. I'd argue with you for hours, because I'm passionate about hockey because it's the best damn sport on the face of this earth. And guys like you that don't know what your talking about, but pretend too, to get hockey fans that may be new to the sport or maybe don't know so much just to get a reaction really riles me up. Grow up, you want to have a real argument on here? Believe me, there's a ton of posters who'll school you on what you think you "believe" about hockey. You have to have a passion for a sport to LOVE it. You seem to me, nothing more, then a troll finding a sport where you think you can degrade people by talking down to them because you think you're superior. You are not, find a new website. I'm tired of your spamming bulls***, I'll take a suspension if it means my fellow Wings fans can just discuss hockey without having to hear your crap in every thread on the go lately. -
Bouwmeester opinions? Potential trades? *merged*
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to jroc86's topic in General
Tatar, Kindl, Emmerton and a 2014 2nd. That's as high as I'd go, Bouw would be a nice fit here, but not if we have to give up a ton to acquire him. -
Smith will be a finalist for the Calder Trophy.
-
No one will ever be Kocur or Probert, and it's foolish to compare. Tootoo is damn tough, he just isn't big. He's got the heart of a lion and he's gonna surprise alot of Wings fans this season. Mark my words.

Yzerman is not an idiot. Heatley at this stage of his career, is an overpaid bum. I'd rather have Malone for his price and what he brings to the game over 7.5 million for a cherry picking Dany Heatley, let alone adding in Tampas best d-man. That rumor is gonna be false, I guarantee it.
-
If he indeed leaves Phoenix, I hope he goes to New York. The last thing I want to see is Doan in Vancouver, as if I didn't hate them enough already and then they add one of the most in your face players in the game? No thanks, c'mon Shane, bright lights, big city and all that jazz

Our Current Defense / What Holland Can Do *merged
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to datterberg1340's topic in General
At this point, I say offer Colaiacovo exactly what we gave White last year and see if he'll accept it. If he does, go hard after Yandle and be able to dangle a defenceman in the package as well because we'd have a bit more depth to be flexible in trades. 16 forwards, 7 defenceman, 3 goalies and a full years worth of picks. Gotta be able to get something done with that kind of leverage. -
I wasn't sold on that Brunner guy when we signed him, but after watching his highlight video the guy has a high end skill. I'd like to see Brunner-Datsyuk-Nyquist (Yepp, give Pavel two quick high skill guys and let him develop them) Filppula-Zetterberg-Franzen (Pretty much the top line, would be deadly. Franzen is better with Zetterberg I feel.) Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi (Could be a pretty physical line with scoring potential if they stay healthy) Eaves-Abdelkader-Tootoo (Wrecking ball line, decent amount of offensive touch too) Then Miller, Emmerton, Mursak as the spare parts. Actually.. I guess I forgot Samuelsson. Yeah, we have too many forwards
-
Horcoff always comes for skates in the summer because he's good buddies with Draper, Homer and Cleary. I probably wouldn't read much into it, but if he doesn't have any friends on the team then it's kind of odd.

claude giroux had 2 wrist surgeries this off season
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to amato's topic in General
And, surprisingly, Colton Orr when he played for the Rags got a few licks in on Crosby. As far as this, pretty nuts he played with a fractured wrist, and then the other one fractures. Crosby is a dickhead, but that's established. Can't wait for Philly/Pittsburgh games next year, that rivalry is at a fever pitch right now.
