Conks is looking good. I've only watched some of the preseason games, but I've heard everyone raving about Kindl. So far tonight he hasn't made a crisp pass or tape to tape, just been turnovers. Sad, but true Especially with Commodore injured. Hopefully we have a bunch tonight haha.

The end result of that hit was bad. What do you expect Smith to do? Back away and flick his stick at the puck? He doesn't play the game like that, he's a hard nosed player. Ben Smith made a Lindros/Primeau esq move at the last second and got drilled. Smith is gonna be suspended because that's how it goes, but there was no intent and wasn't a bad check other then the end result. Feel bad for Ben Smith though, made a dumb move at last second but never good to see a guy crawling around on the ice in pain.

Haven't even seen the hit but if Shanny doesn'y suspend him the entire hockey world will call him biased for favoring the Wings. Sad but true, plus how have there been so fights yet?!? Like lets go already!

Exactly, he's a rookie so that explains why he'd put himself in such a vulnerable position. But for a seasoned ref to then call the penalty, and not just a minor but a major, I'm perplexed. But it's the preseason so I dont care, but come opening night that s*** happens I'm gonna be swearing like a pirate for a couple of pages of the GDT
