Toews has become the most overated hockey player in the NHL.
-
No wonder it took Stamkos so long to agree to his contract, I'd want more then Buttman if I was him too!
-
If he has a monster season, he's gonna cost a hell of a lot more. And for a player like Hudler who is only "effective" in the offensive zone, he isn't worth the money he's likely to get if he has a good season.

Thank you for everything Kris, gonna miss seeing 33 on the ice, but it was time. Gonna be funny to see him and Malts sitting together in the press box at games, all the old guard are starting to retire but they'll never really leave the Wings.

1) Who is your favorite Detroit Red Wing player overall to wear the Red Wings Logo? Steve Yzerman, no doubt about it. 2) Who was your favorite Detroit Red Wing player that joined the red wings? Shanny was huge, but Cleary is my favorite current wing. 3) Which current player would you dream of them joining the Wings? Shea Weber/Shane Doan 4) Which are the players that really "hurt / bugged" you when they left the Red Wings to join another team? Lapointe. Never was the same player after. 5) Is there a player that you never wanted him on the team ... but eventually joined the team? Marian Hossa.

If we had won in 09, and Ozzie had won the Conn Smythe I have no doubts he'd be a first ballot HOFer and have his number retired. But because of that cocksucker Max Talbot now I doubt his number is retired, and it'll be interesting to see if he gets into the HOF. 401 wins and 3 cups should speak for itself, we'll see.

Be shocked if Kronwall didn't get upwards of 6, and Stewie upwards of 4. The ridiculous market values in the cap world have skewed values.
-
Hahahahaah. Well they didn't retain s*** all from the Thrashers, except for a terrible logo well done True North, not like this logo was AWESOME
-
Has anyone noticed what they are doing in Sunrise, FL?

Kevin Dineen will be more beneficial to that franchise then any of the players they signed this offseason. I think he's the "over achieving team" coach of the year darkhorse for next season. And if Jacob Markstrom can make the team and provide solid goaltending, who knows. If it's Theo and Clemmenson though... lol -
I was gonna say that but I didn't wanna start a big s*** typhoon, but I'm not surprised you'd jump at the opportunity

Bow down to the most righteous Wings fan out there! Spare me, if your a real Wings fan you stand by them no matter what. So what if people get a little pissed off when the Wings lose or things aren't perfect? That's what being a fan is all about, you care about the team. You don't sit down look at the score that reads "STL - 10 DET - 2" and just go "Whatever, we'll get em next time!" You get up cuss and swear, grab a beer, chug it, burp, sit back down swear some more and then when the games over move on.

Like a fine wine, Datsyuk just keeps on getting better with age.

I didn't want Cole anyways, especially not for the outrageous price Montreal paid. And to be honest, I haven't really checked lately. That's our only glaring need right now, and with the amount of space we have I think Kenny will address it this season. Probably not this summer, but around the middle of the season/deadline time when it's obvious which teams are in the hunt or out of it.
-
B. White, Commodore and Conks for their price tags is a great deal. Re-signing Miller and Ericsson... what can I say. Hopefully he brings in a big winger with a scoring touch because right now that is all we lack. (Could use a big grinder type, but with the re-signed of Mr irrelevant there's no room in the bottom 6)
-
Under a mil? Brilliant. Lots of room for other moves Khan says it's official as well: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/07/red_wings_agree_to_one-year_co.html

Funny you bring that up, highlights of the 06 series popped up on my Youtube today.. it wasn't the bad D, Manny gave up soft goals at absolutely brutal times. He showed no mental toughness whatsoever. It's a shame, had Osgood been healthy we had a team that could've gone all the way that year. To the question at hand, Conklin is the perfect choice to play 20-25 games next year. His career year was here, even though his save percentage wasn't great (.906) or so, 25 wins and pretty solid play from what I remember.

God bless ya Oz!
-
Thank you for everything Chris! You were a fantastic goalie, and one day you will be in the HOF no matter what jealous fans say. Good luck in your retirement and we'll all miss you.
-
Hats off to a tremendous career, my favorite goalie in the NHL. 400 wins speaks for itself, gonna miss Ozzie if it is indeed true, but it was time. His heart wanted to play but the body just couldn't anymore. Probably gonna be an emotional week if Drapes retires too
-
I love Ozzie, but it was time. For 500k, I'm cool with this. Otherwise I am against, Ozzies been my favorite goalie forever but he hasn't played an NHL game since January and isn't getting any younger.
-
Sounds like a winning formula to me ... FIGHTSSSSSS !!!1!!!!11!1!!!!
-
Damn, he must've smacked the cabbie pretty hard this time around to fracture his wrist!
-
As a fellow newfie I approve of this joke, and I agree. While the price there seems steep, Purcell would be a great fit. Guy was fantastic in the postseason
-
Hope he joins the panel. Him and Bob Mckenzie side by side would be awesome, thank god Pierre is gone hahah
-
Still some noise about Wings picking up a top 4 Dman

If we're going NWO, then hopefully he brings Scott Hall (Ryan Suter) and Kevin Nash (Pekke Rinne) with him
