Brouwer-Toews-Kane Sharp-Bolland-Hossa Kopecky-Taffe-Stalberg Skille-Bickell-Dowell Keith-Seabrook Hjalmarsson-Campbell Scott-Cullimore Turco Toivenen Greaaaaat roster in Chi-town.
-
Course not. He'll play some games, even though I really dont see what he has left, or provides over the other 3. But he's a veteran and we're loyal, in any case we'll still have a strong 4th line with Drapes playing.
-
It'll be great. Excited to see Dano make all the haters STFU, Hudler to prove he is still a solid NHLer, and Modano to prove he's still got it. On top of the best 3rd line, do we not have a very strong 4th line now too? Eaves-Helm-Abdelkader is fast, gritty, has some edge, and some scoring touch too.

According to TSN it's a done deal, signed and delivered. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=329394

I'd love to see Willie here. He's got snarl and if you f*** around with him your dead.

Awesome. Very happy about this, now sign/invite to camp a gritty defenceman and we are set.

"Imma Take My Talents To South Detroit"

Mitchells still out there. ******* Anaheim, always getting tougher and stealing players I'd like to see on the Wings.

I really dont see anyone signing Niemi... he isnt a very good goalie. He won alot of games because of how good the Hawks team was. Turco isnt any better at this career, but for the price probably a better option. If Niemi will take less money then what was awarded to him in arbitration maybe someone like San Jose or Washington will take a chance on him.

Haha, I love reading Hawks fans opinions on players. Here's some reality - For as much as he is loved, Toews has never put up over 70 points in the NHL. His playoff numbers are good, but for someone that's called "good defensively", he's -2 in the playoffs the past season and has amassed 42 points in that span. He cant carry a team, sure he was fantastic for the first 3 rounds but in the finals he was god awful. We all know Hossa, I'll give it to Kane he's produced well in regular season. Dave Bolland is a fantastic matchup/3rd line center, and he's one of my favorite players but he isnt much as a 2nd line pivot. Sharps a good player, no knocks on him. Brouwer and Kopecky are meh, and then your banking on Bryan Bickell, Jack Skille, Victor Stalberg, and whoever else to provide your depth scoring. I really hope your core holds up Chicago fans, I really do. Because it'd be a shame to see you guys go the way of Tampa Bay and Anaheim. SYCHE! Hope you guys suck s*** all year long

The Ducks defence is sooo weak. Vishnovsky-Lydman Sbisa-Fowler Brookbank-Mikkelson ouch

I was at the mall today sitting down and The Score, canadian sports channel was on, and the ticket said that Steve Kouleas has learned that Chicago will sign goalie Marty Turco to a 1yr deal worth 1.5mil if they walk away from Antti Niemi. Kinda weird and caught me off guard, it isnt on TSN so I dunno if it's true or not. I have a question though, what team is gonna be in need of Antti Niemi? He's an ok goalie but he isnt worth 4mil, plus most teams seem to have there goaltending figured out.

“I went into the Phoenix camp and I thought that I could do it, but I couldn’t give it my all,” he said. “I just didn’t have that natural energy. … I felt that I left my heart in Detroit." How can anyone read that and not pull for the guy? Downs loves Detroit, and the majority of the fans love him. I hope to god he makes the team in some capacity, he's one of the best dudes in the NHL and not a half bad enforcer either.
-
Oh ******* rights! Downey is a gun, I hope he gets signed, one of the best guys in the buisness. Plus he couldnt hurt to have in case of rough games and helping out the kids in the minors.

Still living in 2004 are we? Lets see, what players on Chicagos bottom 6 are better then Bert? Haha, oh yeah, none of them. You got Toews, Kane, Hossa, Bolland, Sharp and Brouwer as your top 6 guys, all of them but Brouwer are clearly better. But no one in your bottom 6 is even close. God I cant wait until the season starts, you Hawks fans on your high horses are some ******* annoying let me tell you. Even Ducks fans werent this bad in 2007. Your team is getting ripped apart and it's still all sunshine and lollypops, do you honestly believe you guys would've even won the Cup without Byfuglien, Versteeg and Ladd? That's 20 playoff goals gone, 7 game winners. One and done boys
-
Keep killing your depth Chicago, would've been easier to just trade Hossa and keep half the team. But lets all give Dale Tallon a hand for screwing over the dumboHawks with the Campbell and Huet contracts
-
Steve Yzerman is a friggin gun. He traded an overpaid #5 defenceman and a 4th round pick for a 1st line LWer to play with either Vinny or Stamkos. Not to mention getting Dan Ellis and Brett Clark and Kubina to improve the defence, well done.

August 1st? What a drag.. 2 years is interesting as well. Dunno how I feel about this, Bertuzzi, Homer and Modano all locked in for 2 years? Maybe the Red Wings are old!
-
I dont think the Wings will get destroyed in the regular season, but they arent a very physical team. Abdelkader will be a wrecking ball, as will Helm, and Eaves to some extent. But lets be real here, they arent Scott Stevens, we dont have any big guys who hit hard. Hopefully a healthy Dano will help that a bit, but as much as I love Bert, Franzen and Homer they dont hit as much as they should. On the back end, Stuart always finishes his checks, but Kronwall? Just cuz he's a huge open ice hitter sometimes, doesnt mean he's a hard hitter. If he'd finish all his checks, then he'd be feared. Ericsson is huge and fights, but I havent seen him throw a decent hit once. I dont know anything about Kindl, and we all know what we're getting in Lidstrom, Rafalski and Meech. I mean, we're not that soft or that bad. And we wont be cheapshotted/scrumed up alot because Bertuzzi is the ultimate detterent, he comes around and people back off... unless your dumbass Bobby Ryan and then you face his wrath. But it couldnt hurt to get a couple of tougher guys as spares instead of the Millers/Meechs of the world.

How is everyones answer not boozing it up like maf***as? Jesus, how else do you spend a summer!

At 40 does Modano really need anymore money? It should be about the best oppertunity and best chance to win, and other then San Jose, this is it. Minnesota? If he's living for nostaglia, cool, go there. But they arent going to be in the playoffs let alone contend for a Cup, doesnt make sense. I'll be happy if he comes here, but if not, who cares.
-
He is, but Dano will probably end up playing on the 3rd line to start the season. But he periodically takes shifts with Datsyuk and Zetterberg throughtout games, and we all know how Mike loves to juggle the lines.
-
The wine and dine thing is lovely and all, but if the 2 teams other then Chicago are willing to pay Mike, we wont get him. I'd say the most we should give Modano is 1mil for 1yr, and thats it. I'd love to have him, but with others showing interest now I doubt it.

2nd PP unit is gonna be dope now. Bertuzzi-Hudler-Franzen-Kronwall-Modano
