Same thing they did with Mac. 1yr 500k, 2way contract. Plays in GR all year, joins the team for the playoffs but likely doesnt play. I wouldnt mind, if we did it for Mac we can do it for Malts.

Did you catch the 09 playoffs? The only goal Dano scored that was further then 5ft from the crease was Game 5 against Pittsburgh. All other 8 were screens, tips or bang in's.

So he's finally healthy after 2 seasons, and now we wanna trade him? No, lets just let it play out. Barring injury, Cleary, Hudler and Filpulla will all play well this season. If one of them falters, then I could see a trade because there salarys are very similar. But now? Your mad.

I'd honestly take him right now. He knows the game like the back of his hand, has been a player/coach every season since 06/07 because that was the last time he was even a good player. Plus, he'd be great for the amount of young defenceman we have coming up, teach em a bit of snarl and the tricks of the trade.

The last thing we need is another small, skill player. I cant see him making the team, if we didnt have Drapes and his 1.5mil cap hit, I wouldnt mind him being the 14th forward for so cheap. But he'll be in GR for sure, when we signed Leino he took a whole year in GR and he was much better and much more hyped.

The 3rd line in 08 really started going when Babs swapped Sammy and Cleary against Dallas. God that was a great line and so random I really hope Bertuzzi comes back, he was starting to get comfurtable on a scoring line again and then we got eliminated. If you watched him this year, he isnt lazy anymore, he actually skates. He tries to hard defensively now that he will never go out of his way for a big hit which pisses me off, but some of you are hypocrites. "Oh Bert cant play D, he doesnt hit" Actually because of trying harder to backcheck and play D he lays off the hits. I would love for some of the nasty he had against the Sharks and Jovo in the Phoenix series would come out a little more often, but beggers cant be choosers.

Rather just move Abby to the 3rd line and re-sign Eaves and another 4th line guy. Healthy we have lots of offence. And it annoys me when people just throw Franzen on Datsyuks line always. Franzen has never played well with Datsyuk, he played the best game of his life with Zetterberg, he was part of the best line in the 09 playoffs with Zetterberg and Cleary. And back in 08 his redonky scoring spree was with Filpulla. Keep him away from Datsyuk, put Franzen with Z.

If Edmonton do indeed buyout Moreau, whether Bert does re-sign or not, he's at the top of my list for 4th line grinder. He can play hockey, good defensively, physical, and a veteran with no Cup that isnt terribly old. Because of his high price tag it was never possible to even think about getting him, but coming off a buyout he could be had for cheap.

Actually, we signed two Cup winning players, and that was the reason we couldnt keep Hoss. Nice try though. All I heard all playoffs was "Sure he isnt scoring, but he's playing great defence and back checking hard" People said the same crap last year, bottom line: Big money players have to play big, he didnt either year. (he was good for Pittsburgh, but what does that count for now?) The Hawks won because of guys like Bolland, Versteeg and Byfuglien, not Hossa.

Regardless of anything, Im glad we didnt spend 5million on an injury prone role player in the playoffs.

I like him, and he was great against Vancouver, but yes. Easily the most undeserving. 3 assists and -5 in the Finals, please. Should've been Duncan Teeth, he was their best player IMO.

Anyway we could swing a 3way deal with the Hawks and some team and flip Fil for Bolland? Not too much more expensive. Probably never ever gonna happen but i'd love to have that guy on the Wings.
