For 1.2, he'd be a steal. When the Flames had injury problems at the end of the year Nystrom stepped in and really played great hockey. I also dunno if he'd get many offers, but I'm sure he'll get a handful. If he's looking to win no better place then Detroit right? Plus: Abdelkader-Hudler-Cleary Eaves-Helm-Nystrom Is a nice bottom 6 that can score and throw the body.

Classic San Jose. Almost get knocked out by the ******* Avs without Hedjuk and Mueller, but then play there asses off to beat us (and if not for PP's and Jimmy in games not 5+6, they wouldnt have) and now they are getting totally outclassed by Chicago. Nabakovs diving all the over the crease just makes him look like an idiot when it isnt called, and a team with solid goaltending and a PK to speak of can beat San Jose. We didnt have it this year, but Chicago does. Wouldnt be surprised to see them swept to be honest.

He was good in certain games. And brutal in certain games. If he can cut back the workload in the upcoming season and work on the fundamentals somemore, then sure he'll be championship calibre. But if he plays 60+ games and doesnt fix his rebound control and 5hole, then he wont be. I still love Jimmy and really hope he works out, him going after Crosby gave me hope for him.

Nystrom would be great. Watched him in Calgary the past couple years, great kid, a bit streaky, but he has the potential to score 15 goals if he's givin real 3rd/4th line minutes. Solid checker and decent fight, he'd be perfect and he cant cost that much,

I love Lilja, but no, time to get someone who can actually do his job. He doesnt clear the crease, hit, fight or shotblock like he used too. There are better options out there.

I hate Crosby and Ovechkin. Sidney is a whiny little diver who performs in the easy Eastern offensive hockey, but when he meets a defensive team like Montreal or a Western team... chokes. Ovechkin is a loose cannon who's gonna get his ass kicked one day if he doesnt clean up his act with dirty hits. How about the blame should go on the sieve in Pittsburghs net? .891 sv pct for a Stanley Cup winning goalie? How about the fact that even when he won the cup he only had a .908 sv pct, Fleury is an overated douchebag. But you know whats really great? Pens are out! I know your all about tough players, but I'd be embarrased if Carcillo played for Detroit. A spotpicking, diving, embelishing, peice of s***. I'd rather trade Hudler for someone that has a little talent to go with a back bone like Chris Neil or Cal Clutterbuck, if we were going to go that route.

Is it fun being a douchebag? You seem to be a pretty knowledgable hockey fan so why not ignore the crap and just talk hockey? I dunno, seems pretty easy. Consider this when you talk about whining. If your Franzen and the non-call on a play you felt was a penalty lead to the game winner in a game where your team was elimanated from the playoffs for the 1st time since 2006 before the 3rd round... I'd be pretty pissy and whiny too. He'll get over it and probably wont mention it after this week. Like the Sharks havent whined about something or another before.

I agree with whoever said they'd take Malts over Drapes. Maltby was playing great this season, actually hitting, scoring a decent amount, agitating, then he's out for the playoffs and we get Drapes 12 games 0 points and a faceoff % under 50. I love him, but it's time. I know we're on the hook for his salary, and it's not the Wings style, but it'd be best for the team if we waived him, he cleared and then announced his retirement when he's off the cap.

I'd like to see Bertuzzi back. He finally found good chemistry on that line with Zetterberg and Franzen. He does take bad penalties, but if you watch the game, there mostly reputation calls. If he stays healthy he'd be good to have around. Eaves and Miller are interesting one's. I thought both were great, but Eaves is very injury prone, and there are alot of options for grinders on the FA market way better then them. We'll have to see.

Thanks for the nice run at the end of the season, thanks for one last good memory in the playoffs before being ousted. But honestly, I'm glad it's over. From the first game of the year in that stupid trip to Sweden, something was off. We couldnt hold a lead, we couldnt play defence, we didnt get timely goals. Nothing really changed as the season went along, then people started dropping like flies. And we started losing, and we were in 9th and 10th place in the West at times. It seemed like whenever something would go wrong, it did, scored on during the 1st minute and last minute of periods. Just a nightmare of a season, to cap it off by losing to the Sharks isnt a good memory. But, onto next season, a nice summer of rest will only help Bertuzzi, Homer, Lidstrom, Cleary, Franzen, Stuart and Kronwall get healthy and we be ready to come back next year. Lets Go Red Wings!

2008 seems so long ago now... Well this has ruined my night, off to bed I guess, decent season folks.

I'm really not even pissed. Despite that nice Game 4, it was over after Game 3. Congrats San Jose, you deserved to win, despite the refs help, you were better then us overall. I'm glad that I dont have to watch anymore hockey this year(f*** every other team in the league, i hate them all except Boston), not much to look forward too though, we're going to have essentially the same roster next year. I hope Lidstrom doesnt retire, he's still one of the best.
