This thread is great stuff. Datsyuk hasnt been bad, but if he's a top 3 player then he gets it done, no question. Everyone hates Crosby and say how Datsyuk is sooo much better, like Sid plays with Fedetenko and Guerin, not exactly Darren Helm speed. Yet he's got 30 points and leads his team in goals. The really funny part is this comes after Datsyuk had a good game, as did his line.

It's where we really miss Lilja, he did a great job of that. There's a reason our goaltending is so bad, it's not because there sieves, it's because our defence, and not offence from the backend crap, I'm talking positional defensive game is amongst the worst in the league. We give up lanes, passing or shooting. The front of he net is free reign every game, and we have no buisness battling in the corners. It's hard to believe just 2 years ago we were amongst the best.

Maltby has the same amount of goals, points and a better plus minus in 6 less games then Leino. You cant defend him, he's been garbage this year so far, potential? That was Kopecky's thing the past 2 years, yeah.. didnt work out so well. I'm not saying a trade is the answer, but lines must be juggled and if a guy needs to sit, he has to sit.

Homer cant skate or puck handle, and Bertuzzi's confidence is at suicidal levels. What do you expect? Babcock needs to put Datsyuk with Zetterberg and Cleary and mix and match 2-4 with whoever. Play that 1st line alot and hope for goals, all we can do right now.

So lines for next game I'd like to see Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Cleary Miller-Helm-Bertuzzi Eaves-Draper-Leino May-Abdelkader-Homer/Maltby God our depth is god awful with Z&D together, but it has to be done.
