That line brawl last night was deadly. I hope more of these series start to develop the hate.

When Abby gets back, I'd split Z and D. Tatar and Nyquist don't really play well together, I know people like to reference them, but the real kid line was Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco last year. Outside of line combos, really what we need is two things. 1. Cut back on the dumb penalties. Plain and simple. How do we do that? 2. Take time with the puck, think, make good decisions. Turnovers have been KILLING us for over a month, gotta figure it out. Too often the Wings want to make some pretty ******* play when there up by a goal when just clearing it off the glass and out and getting a change is the right play. This is the playoffs, every single mistake could cost ya. Simplify it.

Mrazek answered the bell. Wings played awful, lots of turnovers and bad decisions. PK was great. Glendening and the backhand is a signature now. Only room for the Wings to play better, so all it all, good win.

Last season Game 1 didn't matter jack s***. But I think this year is different. Tampa match up much better against the Wings than Boston did. Excited to see the new look D pairs and Mrazek break out of our zone. If they can do an effective job throwing off Tampas forecheck/cycle game, we have just as good a chance as they do. Lets get to it, LGW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the decision. Mrazek has winning pedigree, is coming off a good game, and if he gets hot who knows. I don't think Tampas D is as good as people seem too, but their forward depth is unbelievable. It should be a good series. Glad were rolling with the kids (Mrazek, Marchenko, Ferraro)

Hell if it's so irrelevant lets call up Brad Norton and Darryl Bootland while we're at it. Marchenko earned the right to come back up. He'll probably only play for a guy getting rested, but him replacing Smith permanently would be great. (E is never coming off the top pair.... so) Kronwall-Ericsson Dekeyser-Marchenko Quincey-Zidlicky Sign me up.

Well, we all love the Wings. I live and die with theses guys, always have, always will. If they go out in the playoffs, I actively cheer against teams (Chicago, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Anaheim, Montreal) but never cheer for other teams. That's just me though. I think it's OK to be critical of the team and players when things are rough, you just have to keep it in perspective. Is it great we clinched last night? Of course. Did I celebrate? No we lost the game on a horrible goal. Come Game 1 though I'll be full of piss and vinegar wearing wings apparel staring at the TV until the game ends. "Real fan" is a bad term IMO, if you're a fan, then you're a fan. Otherwise you wouldn't be on here posting right? (Except for that dips*** Minny fan who posted on here for like half a year posing as a Wings fan until Suter and Parise signed with the Wild but I digress because I don't wanna get banned before the playoffs... )

If this were 7 years ago and he weren't married, the strip joints here in Calgary would be jumpin tonight.

I'm happy about clinching the playoffs. But it won't be a long run the way Howard is playing, I mean, after that stinker, does he even start Saturday?

That's ridiculous, in a game where we really needed some goals. Thank god we won, but if we didn't....

Well, 2 points and an ROW is all we could've asked for. Plus, Pittsburgh lost and there's a real chance they fall out now. That'd be great for the NHL

So true. The problem with the Wings play, is if there not scoring or cycling in the O-zone, they look lazy and complacent. They don't hit anyone, they don't hustle around the D-zone. It's a really boring style to play, even more boring to watch. Can a switch be flipped in a week where they start to compete harder? I'm not sure.

Carolina lost to Buffalo last night, so..... If we don't get 2 points in regulation we don't deserve to make the dance anyways. That said, I think Z and D will give us a spark and we'll figure it out. LGW!!

Lang was so clutch in the playoffs. Dude got a bad rep because he was slow, but boy was he consistent in the playoffs. Cleary-Lang-Bertuzzi was our best forward line against Anaheim in 07 too, if not for Kronwall and Schnieder being out we win the cup that year too (I'm bitter)

Late season ringer for the playoffs, he'll play 5 mins a night and win the last 3 games in the SO for us. *fans go wild* "TODD BERTUZZI" (still pissed he couldn't win a cup with us)

Well deserved. Ferraro has been great for GR, get him in the line-up over Dano.

Burkie may not be the best GM (or president) but he's as savvy as they come. The fact that Engelland and Bollig play every night helps the barn fill up regardless of how the team does. Plus, all their skill guys are small but rarely get run or targeted after the whistle, coincidence?!

I've only been to a couple games live this year because of school, but the amount of McGrattan jerseys is absurd, a fan favorite enforcer buried in the minors. If their season had gone like the Leafs they'd probably have boycotted the games by now until they recalled him.

Living in Calgary, it's pretty funny to see how much they love Hudler. I'm happy for him (no pun intended) I didn't think he was a fit here after he came back from the KHL, too slow, but he found a great situation in Calgary and has taken advantage of it.

Get in first. Then, probably Tampa. They're a good matchup, we probably wouldn't win a single game vs the Rangers the way were playing, and Montreal would depend on if we could solve Price. Definitely Tampa.

While true, we had a game against Carolina last season that would've given us a much more favorable match-up against Pittsburgh and didn't show up. I realize it's a different season, but with the Wings play of late, and how they've played against bottom feeders this year, it's not slam dunk. It's gonna be a bumpy ride to the finish line.

Man, 2 BS deflected goals, we actually play pretty good but can't score any ******* goals. The two games coming up against Carolina loom large, their huge games, but against bottom feeders will the Wings even show up? Who would've seen this coming after the trade deadline, yikes.

Top 3 lines actually look really good for the first time in.... a longf****** time. Lets see if all that work with Bedard worked for Jimmy, probably his last chance to prove himself before the playoffs. Because beating Carolina in one of our last couple games would be indicative of nothing, beating the Wild would be. LGW!!

Seriously, Glendening and Andersson took a shift in OT together while Weiss and Pulks were glued to the bench. Coaching to win, orrrrr....?
