It really isnt, and at the same time it is. Giguere stopped absolutely everything, and everytime the Wings beat him, they hit the post or crossbar. CuJo wasnt even bad, yet still got swept.

I'd rather split them, I think throw Cleary on the 2nd line and put Leino on the 3rd and you might get a nicer balance. Those lines dont look too bad, that 4th line could actually take the body, forecheck, and contribute a little bit.

Kenny usually picks out a couple of guys and invites them to camp (Cleary, LaCouture in 05; Downs, Sopel and Cullimore in 08) So I'd say if there's any chance for Bell to come here it'll be as a training camp invitee.

Haha, San Jose gave him that money when they acquired him from Chicago some years ago. It was pretty much the reason he was in the minors last year, no one could afford to take on a player like Bell for that much. (Not to say he cant be worth it again some day )

Oh it's possible, and I hope to god it happens. I'm just not expecting it, but it's the perfect situation. Big body, drafted high, couple 20 goal years, had a couple problems, spent a year in the AHL, give him Babs and a training camp and I'd imagine he'd be back on track (Much the same as I expect from Eaves)

Teenagers in Calgary for the most part of dirtbags, and whenyou have to put up with the Flames product, those numbers dont surprise me. Try checking in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto though. Numbers will be much higher.

This has nothing to do with Williams. It's situation, Babcock rewards hard work. Cleary and Filppula work hard, Williams and Eaves do not. I believe that Eaves will work his butt off, because this is probably his last shot. But we all know what we're getting with J-Will, he doesnt work hard along the boards, it's why we dealt him in the first time, because we wanted to get a bit bigger and grittier (Kennys words.) Williams wont get the icetime to put up 47 points, he'll play 3rd line, maybe 2nd powerplay on the point, god help us all. I dont hate J-Will, I was a fan of his before he got kabonged by Torres and started playing like a barbie doll on the ice, but it isnt 05-06 anymore, I'll be satisfied with 30 points from Jason and a little bit of push back.

I wonder if he'll play for a Coke-Only contract clause. That could be worthwhile for some teams looking for a cheap spark plug.

If Lilja's headaches keep up, it wont matter. No one's going to take him in a trade at this point, so hold onto him and hope he'll eventually get healthy. But as far as a healthy Lilja, no, Ericsson cant play defense or PK like Lilja, but he's young.

Our 4th line is going to be bad, no matter who's on it. I'd rather it be Holmstrom with Draper and Maltby to give the others a chance to prove themselves, we know what we're getting in those three. I cant believe I'd ever get to the point that having them is really hurting the Wings from being a tough team, they take up cap space and room on the roster for more effective players, it wouldnt be so bad if they provided some offence, but they just dont.

Oh I will GMR, I will. I'll holdout hope of someone like that until after camp. I agree, the 06 Wings were tougher.
