Eh, when Feds held out, he was arguably the best player in the league and we were looking for an extra gear to help us on route to a 2nd Cup, he did everything. Hudler is good on the PP, and already commited to Russia, to come back, I know I wouldnt be happy with him on the team.

As much as I'd like to see those guys get a chance, a guy like Grier or Peca for cheap is just so much better. Oulahan and McGrath have never been the most physical players, and we dont need any minor league Stephane Yelles, we need guys who can grind.
-
Possibly, but it seems a tad strange that Burkie would come out yesterday saying Kaberle would be on the opening day roster, and then turn around and deal him, but again, it is Burke.
-
I really like what Jimmy Rutherford has done this off season. Re-signs Larose, Cole and Ruutu and Jokinen, adds two good character guys in Kostopolous and Alberts and now brings Ward back for a winger who hasnt been effective since Darcy Tucker beat him up. Dont know what Bostons doing, must have a trade brewing.
-
That`s fine, I hope he`s nice and healthy for the Hawks and contributes all of he`s capable of, because that way, the Hawks will crumble, leading to another Wings Cup. Least we forget Havlat had the same amount of points, 1 fewer goal in only 16 games, playing 1st&2nd line minutes, just like Hossa. I`m still amazed this story came out so late.
-
Too much, if Filpulas numbers are getting paid 3mil, Hudlers would get 4-5, and the Wings would be foolish to pay a player like Hudler that kind of money.
-
If he actually starts playing well in the minors, then this is good. Otherwise, this is pretty much a minor league Kronwall deal. Pay for potential.
-
I think he`s overated, being from up here, unfortunately I get to see alot of Oilers games, and he always seems to have bad turnovers and just dumb plays at the most critical times, but you cant argue with 40 points, we`ll see how he does now.
-
His play around the net is now on par or better then Homers IMO, he cant screen and get his ass into the goalies head like Homer does, but he can tip the puck like it`s nobodys buisness. And to the bolded, I`m already calling a career year for Dano if he gets significant icetime with them, in 08 he was playing fantastic hockey and having the best year of his life (besting his numbers of the previous year in just 62 games) when he had his season ended against Toronto, and didnt play very well during the playoffs until the Finals (but hey, that`s all that mattered!) Unlike the doom and gloomers, I`ve very excited to see how Franzen, and Cleary, and the kids step up this year

You just wait. The Monster ist coming.
-
I love how this story comes out for the first time on the 21st of July. Regardless, Cleary was injured too, and still produced. It isnt an excuse (as much as Wings fans wish it were in regards to the Cup)

Shhh, people dont want to hear that, will make them think twice. Malkin won the Conn Smythe, thats all that counts!!!!

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

Hossa was matched against the great Dave Bolland, Todd Marchant, and RJ Umberger if memory serves me right for the most part, He'd get eaten alive against Z if Crosbys not there giving him the puck (Not a shot at Toews, love him, but not Sids calibre.) -
Uhh, Hasek? Roy? Both are easily on the same level. As far as the Messier thing, I thought Mess made a bad rep for himself in Vancouver, but I was always a fan of his. Just from my opinion, I'd take him over anyone on that list except for Esposito, Clark and Trottier. I just loved watching him in the playoffs from the past, he didnt fight, but he was a tough SOB.
-
Come on now, people just hated him because he was small and weak, or loved him because he clucked at Ozzie all the time. The whipping boys were Sammy and Kopecky all the time, no breaks on the beatings those guys took.

He's a doucher, but he said nothing wrong there. -
Strong defensively, good PKer, good leader, canadian, send him to Downeys potato farm for a couple of weeks and I'm sold.
-
2nd most points all time, 6 Stanley Cups, one of the greatest warriors of all time. Mess was one of the best, I can only think of Gretzky, Lemieux, and Yzerman being better then him, and I really dont believe much others even have a case.
-
The Wings themselves are "classy" enough. Hossa choked during crunch time, and Kopecky was always a loser. Besides, not like I'm saying there Judas' or backstabbing assholes like Pittsburgh did, and last time I checked the NHL as a whole believes there pretty classy.
-
This is rediculous, instead of Kenny being able to make moves, and actually offer free agents contracts, or make trades, he has to wait on this idiot. He doesnt want to be here, he wanted money and a chance to make a name for himself in Russia, let him go. This is going to make us a worse team in the end, by the time July 31st roles around, there will be no free agents left that can help us. Thanks Jiri.

It was funny listening to Stan Bowman talk about how Hossa burned the Hawks, yet didnt mention anything abou the playoffs It was also funny listening to Kopecky saying it was a battle against the Hawks, when he didnt even play, and we were better for it. Good luck losers!

San Jose arent done, they are going to shake things up. They have to, if they dont, there over the cap and still going to be the playoff chokers.

Mack, I have confidence Canada will win gold, it`s just I dont want too many primadonnas on the team. When guys like Lucic, Morrow, Cleary, etc. are available for your team, get them on the team. They can play, and they can grind, and against teams like Russia, Sweden, Finland we have the talent to match them, but if we dont have the grinding play (and I dont mean just the (Getzlafs and Richards and Doans because thats a given) we might not have the full advantage. I like our goaltending over everyone, yeah even Sweden. Home ice will be huge as well as you mentioned, hopefully Stevie and Mike do er right and Canada wins the gold on home ice (and I can brag how Canadians are still the best on this site )
-
If Canada builds the team the way they should, they`ll handle Russia. Less Heatleys more Lucics, but Im sure they`ll make the mistake. I dont think Russias goaltending is strong enough for a victory, if it isnt Canada, I believe the States has a good chance.

I'd rather play home and homes with Toronto and Montreal then play against Buffalo and the Islanders throughout the year. Also dont like having to wait till March to beat up on the Pens at home.
