I'm just going to put who I believe will be on Chicagos opening day roster Kane (3.75)-Toews(2.80)-Hossa(5.16) Sharp(3.90)-Bolland(3.75)-Versteeg(3.08) Ladd(1.55)-Madden(2.75)-Byfuglien(3.00) Brouwer(1.00)-Burish(0.71)-Kopecky(1.20) Eager(0.96) Seabrook(3.5)-Keith(1.47) Barker(3.08)-Campbell(7.14) Hjalmarsson(0.64)-Sopel(2.33) Johnson(0.55) Huet (5.65) Crawford(0.75) Good line-up, but pricey. But it's going to be hard for them next year. Toews, Keith, Kane, Ladd, Skille, Hjalmarsson all RFA's in the way of a raise. Madden, Burish, Johnson, Fraser, and Eager are for sure gone next year too. Interesting situation.

?? The Wings dont even come close to knocking themselves out in the regular season. In the last 4 years, they've played more playoff games then anyone. And home ice is the most important thing for real playoff team (Yeah, I'm looking at you San Jose, and obvious exceptions being the 1995 Devils, 2009 Penguins, etc etc)
-
This is something we can agree on. Holland needs to know if Lilja is going to be available and healthy for next season, and Ozzie needs to have a rebound season. Wouldnt kill Mike to change the pairings up either.
-
And was called out for being lazy and not trying very hard. He's a player that can get by on pure talent, but I dont want that kind of player on the Wings.
-
As opposed to losing with that nice puck possesion and being nice and saying "Good game" after the whistles right? Obviously thats not what you said, but that wasnt what I said in your quote either. I'd much rather see the Wings lose and not be happy about it, then just skate away without doing anything about it all the time, espicially in games where they get beat up or disrespected. Because the Wings will still do alot of winning in the coming season, losing little Jiri Hudler wont affect us very much, despite his 20 goals and awesome 57 points. If the Wings sharpen up defensively and become tougher to the play, they wont need to score as much as they did last year. Or maybe you enjoyed last years regular season? Winning games off of pure offence, nothing else, offence. It doesnt win you the Cup, as was envident in the finals, our dynamic offence that we're losing such a huge part of this off season, managed 2 goals in the Final 2 games of the Stanley Cup finals. I'm not worried, not one little bit.
-
Because it's all about points right? I used them because you cant really compare Travis Moen to Jiri Hudler without them, but they dont tell the whole story (Though, in comparison of years, Moen had 2 less points and more goals in his cup winning season then Hudler ). Moen was one of San Joses better players, but when your being led by Jumbo Choke Joe and Marleau, tough to do well. I want to make it known I'm not a huge Moen fan either, but I'd love to have him. He brings the entangibles, if Hudler wasnt scoring but playing solid defence and playing physical, then I'd be sad to see him go, because in that situation once he gets going with the scoring again, now you've got a player on your hand. But Hudler isnt that, he's one dimensional, PP and 2nd/4th line guy, and the Wings have enough talent to get around that. I know we'll be just fine with or without Moen or Hudler, and thats really all that matters.
-
Best years are behind him? He's 27. I was wrong, he didnt even get hurt last year, played all 82 games, 77 the year before, 82 the year they won the Cup, and has only been hurt in 2006. Just 2 years ago he was a solid contributer to the Ducks with 12 points and 7 goals in the playoffs. That's all that matters, Travis Moen brings it in the playoffs. Something Jiri Hudler failed to do this year, and why alot are happy to see him go. I dont want Moen to be Hudlers replacement, but if were going to score less, we could be harder to play against and grittier, tougher and better defensively, and Moen brings all of that.
-
You signed in Moscow, like are you going or not? We bring you to arbitration, you get awarded too much, we let you go as a free agent, and then you finalize this thing. See ya Jiri, I hope you do not come back buddy!
-
They are nothing alike, other then being Canadian. Moen got hurt last year and now he's injury riddled? He'd be a fan favorite in Detroit by mid November, but I doubt we're going to get him even though I wish we would.
-
Good luck Jiri, you wont be back here ever again (god willing), but if you do make it back to the NHL, I hope you find somewhere to be sucessful.
-
Lazy player, if he cant play for Ruff or Mactavish, he wont be able to play for Babcock.
-
He deserved more, the guy was a joke. He was one of the best warriors in the playoffs the games ever seen, but it doesnt change the fact he was an embarrasment to the sport when he was on the ice. I've always hated him, and never wanted to see him have sucess, unfortunately... But lets see some of Claudes greatest hits. One last turtle for the road Claudia!!

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=284086 Good for Saku, Montreal is going to be a s***hole next year, whereas the Ducks could be competitive, they have a worse defence, but better scoring depth this season (Getzlaf, Ryan, Perry, Koivu, Lupul, Selanne, Ebbett, Christensen, etc.)
-
If Bell gets a contract anywhere it'll be for a 1mil or less. He's had problems, but I have no problem with reclamation projects.
-
Oops, read that wrong, my mistake, thanks Heaton!
-
NM!
-
6 mil tied up in Versteeg and Barker, 5 in Hossa, 1.2 in Kopecky, all going into next year. Madden, Eager, Brouwer, Johnson and Fraser will all be gone next year to make room. The Hawks have one year to win the Cup with an all star team.
-
Good riddance you dirty bastard. Hopefully this is finally the last time.
-
Very surprised when I read this a couple minutes ago. I guess we are going to get more bigger and gritty afterall, but damn, we dont get anything for compensation, thats the s***ty part.
-
No Messier, No Lemieux, No Yzerman, and now no Sakic, it's a sad time. The great captains of the past arent there anymore

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283975 Get better soon, the Pens are gonna need ya.

Jeremy Williams & Kris Newberry sign with Wings / GR?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to titanium2's topic in General
Different players, Newbury can give you 10-12 minutes and contribute, but doesnt fight as much as Downs. He could play on the 4th line this season, thats for sure. -
Hahaha, this is why no one respects the NHL. If I was Wilson, I'd say the same goddamn thing. He didnt do anything wrong.
-
I honestly dont like the Hudler thing. He said he's willing to go over the cap, and if Hudler gets 3-4 million, man, I dont like it. We'll see, but I dont like the sounds of it.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283634 Pretty much, if filed invalidly, Barker, Versteeg, Eager, Fraser, Johnson and Brouwer could become unrestricted free agents.
