The Hawks may be talented, but they play much to much like us to actually beat us. Grinding, physical, slow, tough teams give the Wings problems, teams like Dallas, Colorado, Nashville, Columbus and Chicago cannot beat us in the playoffs. Teams like old Calgary, Anaheim, and dirtbag teams like that can handle us. -
And Toews doesnt? He's won everywhere he's ever played, his heart is unquestionable and the guy has been playing through the flu on and off all playoffs. I know he's a scumbag because he plays for Chicago, but the kid has heart and lots of it.

Laugh at the Ducks all you want, but after seeing the Versus angles of the handshake line, I have a ton of respect for Getzlaf. Dude's a warrior, would love to have him on the Wings!

It's not that their not as good, but play a different style. The Ducks played a no-nonsense shutdown, physical approach. The Hawks are alot like the Red Wings defence, more backed off stick checky ready to go on offense at any time. It'll be easier for Detroit, but it wont be a cake walk by no means. -

Well... he doesnt like girls either. But is that news? Nope. I could give two s***s who he likes, he's gonna get Umberger'd by Stuart then he wont even know what a "Red Wing" is. -
He was the only elite player to play elite. He doesnt get praise because we've come to expect it from Z. His penalty killing last night was something else though, holy mackeral!

Dude rivals Brodeur for clutchest goalie of the modern age, he'll probably be above him should he win the Cup this year. He'll be a hall of famer when he retires in 2 years or so time.

If Datsyuk can actually do something this series, it'll be easy. Cleary, Zetterberg, Franzen, Filpula, Hudler, etc etc are all playing at a good level, but if Homer, Hossa and Datsyuk get rolling, they have no shot. -
