I love Daniel Cleary so much more then I already did after that.
-
Lappy, Armstrong, Havelid, would all make sense.
-
I hate all this Lemieux talk, but tonights the night to end all the talking. Stuart wants to make a good impression on his return, well if he runs Lemieux over he will hears cheers the likes hes never, and probably will never, hear.
-
Good night Claude Lemieux, Wings win 6-2.
-
Mike Richards will win many cups, and score many points, alot of shorthanded points too. Plus, he'll be one of the best captains in the NHL until he retires. (I love Mike Richards too, so that counts for something.)

Claude Lemieux Steve Ott Corey Perry Tomas Kopecky Mike Ribeiro Daniel Alfrredsson Plus I really hate David Moss because he's so overated by Calgary media.

"OVIE" or "DATS":Best overall player...you pick
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Wingaling's topic in General
Since Crosby is the best offensively, and Ovechkin is dynamic, and Datsyuk is the best overall (based on this thread). I'll take all three, stick Jason Strudwick and John Erksine on defence to protect them from danger too. -
It'll probably go like this Lidstrom/Chara Lidstrom/Chara Boyle Green Weber Rafalski I mean he gets points, but he isnt a sexy pick. That's all people care about these days.
-
It's a 2 week conditioning stint, he'll be back. I dont know if Mac will crack the line-up, but I hope he and Downey get some time after the trade deadline when the rosters expand and the cap goes away. They've done enough to deserve a couple of regular season games. Love ya Mac, good luck!

Is it time to make some major moves for this year's playoff run?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to boomer's topic in General
A 4th liners job isnt to score points, Neil is a more impact player then any of Malts, Drapes or Kopecky. If he was making the argument over points, well thats not good. But if it was purely better, he's better then all 3. (And I do love Drapes and Malts, but they havent had great years.) -
Kopecky, Chelios Healthy Scratches for Tomorrow's Game

I hope he gets rains of boos every time he steps on the ice, not just little boos. f*** Lemieux -
We havent even seen what Ozzies going to perform like after the rest, and we're already starting with these? The Wings need grit and character players at the deadline, not goalies.

Glad I'm not the only one who put Neil in there roster, and didnt have Sammy as a regular! Edit: Woahhh, forgetting Dano however?!

Chris Neil and/or Gary Roberts. Neils play in the finals in 07, and Roberts performance in the playoffs period, would make me want them. Oh, and to anyone who thought Drake was washed up last year, please ask Stephane Robidas what he thinks -
Babcock wont be fired, but I hate that the Wings have to play in Sweden. I would've avoided it if I was Holland, it killed New York, Anaheim and finished Ottawa off.

Filpula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Franzen-Zetterberg-Hossa Cleary-Helm-Neil Leino/Maltby-Draper-Hudler My 09 lines, and could happen. Though Kopecky and Samuelsson being gone in favor or Neil probably wont happen, but dont kill my dreams.

The toughness in last years playoffs was grown. Downey and Drake effected everyone, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, even Hudler all finished checks, for the first time I've ever seen. You can discount it if you want, but it wasnt a coincedence they did it when they had a tough guy on the roster. You dont remember the toughness from last year eh? McLaren running Drake and Zetterberg, Downey handling him easily and the Wings pound San Jose in the 3rd and win the game. Or when we were absolutely depleted and Lappierriere takes a run at Lidstrom, to which Downey responds and makes him turtle, and the Wings win with 5 d-men, and already short regulars. I could name off a ton of different instances from last year, but I can really only name one this year, and it was a star player who did it, and it only happened last week. There is a huge difference in overall team toughness and physical play this year and last year. Kronwall came up huge in the playoffs, and Stewie and Lilja were always tough, but Rafalski and Lebda/Chelios all played tough in the playoffs as well, or at least as tough as they could. Lidstrom played much to smart to ever even throw a body check, so it didnt matter. As for the McCarty comment, yeah he didnt do much. But his leadership on the bench for the games he played was huge, his goal against Nashville was huge, and in a series where we dominated Colorado, and they tried to goon it up, he proved we werent to be f***ed with. And we werent, 2008 Stanley Cup Champions. Cant argue with that, like GMR said earlier.

His choppy english always made me laugh.
-
Read what I said, that's not my feelings just what I've read and heard people say, I think Datsyuk is one of the most excting players in the game, some dont.
-
It really is, too bad Therrian wont be around at the end of the season though. "So Coach, what do you think is the reason the Penguins missed the playoffs?" "Oh, um, ah, um, Obstruction"
-
What Milbury said isnt that far off... they dont play with alot of jump, they arent that exciting to watch (if you arent a fan of the team), and when they arent scoring goals there usually isnt alot of positives. Milbury isnt talking about playoff hockey, he's talking about regular season, and he's not bashing, he saying what he sees, and he's not far off. But to all the haters, as soon as he said it, Pierre said only good things about the Wings until they went to commercial. 3rd back underway.

Luongo to his standards this year, has been brutal. The Canucks, most nigths keep him in games. Except for the past couple, where he's really come on, so watch out for Vancouver. I mean it's great that Conks is playing well, and has very good goaltending statistics, but he's still got along ways to go.
-
Ah, GMR why'd you have to go there. Now about a hundred posters are going to come on and discredit the play of Mac, Downey and Drake from last year. Havent you heard enough of that bull already, you really are just trying to stir up a storm here arent you?

Frig San Jose, you guys are already tough enough, bring Neil kenny!
