Alfie broke down in the 2nd half of the season and was invisible most nights, and in the playoffs. He's 41 and he isn't going to get any more durable as we go along. Wish he'd hung them up. I'll hold out hope for a trade or something, but the way we're going looks like were gonna bring the same damn team into next season.

The fact we had to get Quincey through Stevie because Colorado wouldn't deal with Holland tells me Sakic would probably never trade with us, but I imagine the thought of Nyquist and Duchene playing together might get the Avs brass excited.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk aren't getting any younger. To me, it makes no sense to hold onto all our prospects. They won't all make the Wings, there just won't be the room for em all. Package a few of them up with a roster player or picks and add some quality hockey players. We're not that far away, but you have to be willing to give to get. Coupled with how much space we have, it just seems like the perfect time. I see a 3 year window we have with Z&D still at a high level and Babs still the coach. Take your shots now Kenny, please!
