I've read that it'll be McCabe for Van Ryn, Booth and a 4th round pick, which is a good deal for TO.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Great news!

Legace Sopel Calder
-
He started off terrible, and became great. /end
-
If it was the regular season, he would've got his, but the Wings dont take dumb penalties in the playoffs, and even being pro grit and enforcer etc., I have no problem with that.
-
Sundin is a hall of famer even if he retired today.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=16195 Dunno, just another Ek blogger, but I wouldnt mind Neil. We have alot of defenceman aswell.

You make alot of good points. I guess I've just always liked Lowe, the Smyth thing was all on him for sure, obviously Penner and Vanek as well. Pronger, at the time looked good, but Lupul sucked for Edmonton and Smid didnt even get a 2nd chance after a very strong 1st season with Edmonton. At least we can agree that MacT isnt right for the Oilers. He should've been gone after the debacle that was 2006/2007.
-
Yeah, Steve Tambellini will be a better GM of the Oilers then Lowe, please. Would've been smarter to get rid of McTavish and get someone like Tortorella or Burns.
-
Sorry Fin, but Filpula is no Belak
-
Underated: Lecavalier Overated: Malkin

I imagine it'd have to be in the coaching department, no need to get rid of Lowe.

Bowman named Senior Advisor to Blackhawks
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to digitaljohn88's topic in General
I love Scotty, and thank him for everything that he brought to the Red Wings Now though, I hope he fails terribly and Chicago follow suit, sorry, but I will never cheer for anyone with the Blackhawks. -
Mitchell.

Meh. Too long, and too much for right now. But Kenny knows what he's doing, and if Filpula is playing with Hossa next year, he better put up points.
-
Great news. McCrimmon is exactly the kinda guy we could use on our coaching staff.
-
http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...aining_cam.html I guess this means Drake isnt coming back, probably for the best. Going out on top is the right way to go.

Cleary. Ulf Samuelson in 99 or Kyle Calder in 07

That's true, Sharp wont even think about hitting a Wing next year. I think Downey will get that much, but who knows. Kopecky, forgot about him, he might get one. I could see Franzen fighting, he just needs better aim, and he shouldnt try Matt Walker either... Cleary held his own against a 6'3 defenceman, not bad. I could see him getting into a couple scraps as well. We arent that bad, but that's hypothetical, since we dont know whos gonna be on the team.

Great post. Exactly how I feel, people look and see "Oh, Steve Moore had his career ended by Bertuzzi, BERTUZZI MUST BE PUNISHED!!" But do not see that Moore was an assclown. He concussed Naslund with a cheap, late hit in an earlier game. Then like you said, tried to take out his knees. He was a dirty player, that brought nothing to Colorado but trying to injure players. People hate Jackman, and Pronger and the list goes on and on, but they contribute to there teams. Moore didnt. Bertuzzi asked Moore 4 times, to fight him, before the incident. But he took the "New NHL" route and tried to draw the penalty, and look what it got him. You make another good point about the Lemieux/McCarty incident that I was actually thinking about the other day. If D-mac socks Lemieux from behind, and hurts Lemieux and ends his career, do people think McCarty is a bad player? They love him now because of it, and I'd still love him either way, but that's just a good example. Moore deserved to have retribution taken on him, but instead, all he had to do was take a beating, ala Lemieux, and everything would've been fine. Instead, Bertuzzi socked him from behind and ended his career. It was unfortunate, but it could've been avoided.

Landfeld, Williams and Hudler/Hussey. As far as this year GMR, I see it like this. Lilja 5 fights, Downey if he signs, 10 fights, Mac 5 fights, Quincey, if he makes the team, 5 fights. Around 25 for the year, but all of those players might not even be on the roster next year, which is so so sad.

Dino Shanahan 97 or Bertuzzi 03?
-
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=16198 Confirmed by sportsnet.ca as well - http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/signings_2008/ This is unbelieveable. They have like 17 forwards now.

Is Emmerton eligible to play for GR this year? I hope so. But if not, I'm sure he'll tear up the OHL this year.

Phoenix have enough cap room to match any offer. It'd likely take a 4mil+ offer sheet, and we dont have that kind of money. But 20 goals, 20 assists, 200+ PIM's, 150+ hits kinda guy is a dream. Neil is a better option, that makes more sense and wouldnt be impossible to get.
