I hope Jagr lights him up.

Great to hear. With Bergeron Boston definately would've beaten Montreal last year, they arent that bad of a team. A healthy Manny Fernadez helps too.

Ottawa Senators Sign Jason Smith to a 2-Year Contract
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Yak19's topic in General
Damnit. 2 of my favorite players sign with two of my most hated teams. (Tucker and Smith, Col and Ott) -
Horrible games? Please. One bad line change and everyone wants him out of town. Chelios hurt his leg against Dallas and despite being healthy for games 3-6 of the Finals, Babcock didnt want to change a winning line-up. It had nothing to do with how Cheli was playing.
-
I remember back in 2006 when everyone said he should hang them up, and he had nothing left in the tank, and should just retire already. Then he went out and had a playoffs similar to that of a number 2 defenceman on most teams. Chelios will be fine.

Seriously? Oh wow, so the star kids get paid more money. Didnt know that. Well, that puts Tampa in a bit of a bind.

Nonis did a pretty good job in Vancouver. Got rid of of Cloutier, brought in Luongo. Brought in Pyatt, Mitchell, drafted Bourdon (RIP) and Bieksa. I dont know why Vancouver fired him to be honest, Gillis isnt much better.
-
Yeah, they honestly do. D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Bernier Pyatt-Demitra-Raymond Johnson-Kesler-Burrows Pettinger-Wellwood-Shannon Hordichuk Isnt that bad. There defence, healthy is top 5 in the league. With Luongo behind them, they'll be fine.

That is true, but Bertuzzi's great play along with his physical play, he was just so dominant. Poor Vancouver, had 2 top 15 forwards in the NHL on the same line, and now all they have are 2 sisters.
-
He's no McDonald, but if healthy, Morrison will be fine in Anaheim. He isnt washed up, he's 32. He still has lots left in the tank.
-
I'd go with 1b. I think he will, they always hated him. Until he he returns to his old power forward form, they wont cheer him. And if they do, they are the most two faced fans in the NHL. Living in Calgary, they hate everyone in the NW and I've had a ton of people say they'd never cheer for Bertuzzi, Naslund, Gaborik, Smyth, etc. if they played for Calgary. It's gonna be fun watching them change there tune next year
-
Stamkos will get a 3 year entry level contract... he wont get more then a million even if he deserves it. As for Rechhi, glad to see he got signed. One of my favorite players ever, did great things for Atlanta last year, and I expect the same in Tampa, espicially with the amount of great forwards around him.
-
.. He was the Canucks best player from 2001-2004, The Flames booed him night in and night out. Just like how Phaneuf gets booed in Vancouver.
-
He did. But I dont really think he got good value for Pronger either, and why trade him back tot the West? I think the Leafs offered Stajan+Kaberle and something, probably would've benefited the Oilers better. But not just the Pronger deal, he let a bunch of important players go. Samsonov, Peca, Spacek, Harvey, Murray, Smyth and Smith later on in the 06-07 season. I mean, now Stoll and Torres are gone too, he almost re-made the whole thing. Plus, he overpaid for Souray and Penner, and we'll see what a healthy season for both does, but I just dont think he handled everything the right way. And that's probably a reason people dont want to go to Edmonton (other then the weather.)
-
Everyone I know hates Edmonton too... living in Calgary, the winters here are bad, but in Edmonton is much worse. Plus the crime and protection up there is a joke. It's a good hockey town though, and if Lowe hadnt f***ed them up after there cup run, I'm sure alot of players would want to go to Edmonton. Detroit is different, it's not the nicest place either, but they are proven winners.

Probert in this day and age would be amazing. Cristobal Huet, Manny Legace, Pascal Leclaire and Dan Ellis would have to watch out
-
Disappointed in Todd. Wanted him back, and signing in Calgary makes no sense. The Avs fans will boo him, the Oilers fans will boo him, the Canucks fans will boo him, and the Flames fans will boo him. He's still getting paid too much anyways. Still hope we make some room and sign Peca! (Dont quote me and kill my dream though please )
-
After his playoffs, he deserves to be in the NHL. But I think he'll stay in GR for the regular season. And he will dominant.
-
It still confusing me why we re-signed Lilja. Good guy, decent player. But as a depth defenceman, I'd rather have Chelios for like 650k, and the have Quincey/Meech/Chelios all compete for the 6 spot, would make the competetion better. I still think that if Meech, Quincey or Ericsson have good camps, Lilja will be dealt somewhere.
-
Awh, dont take McLauren. I'd like to see him take a run at Hossa and have Downey beat his ass down again
-
Weird place to for Nolan. No shot at the cup in Minny, and he's there for 2 years.. though he will have fun playing with Gaborik and Boogaard
-
I hope not. 39 only fits Dom to me.

Red Wings To Play Blackhawks In Winter Classic
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to RedWingsFanatic's topic in General
Too bad Chicago has to be invovled. Great to see the Wings in though. -
Barraso is lucky, Probert takes one more swing and he's down for the count.
