I now understand why they traded Zherdev. Good move by Scott Howson to add 2 top 4 d-men and still get a 20 goal scorer.
-
When he came back in the Finals, I definately noticed him playing more physical. I just dont think he's a consistent physical player, like say Maltby or Cleary are. But anything is better then nothing.
-
Physical bottom defenceman>Skillful bottom defenceman. I see trading Lebda as a great idea, not that I want him gone, just then you have Meech, Quincey and Chelios to sub in and out depending on the opponent. If were playing say the Habs, you probably want Meech or Chelios in there, if were playing the Lightning, you probably want Chelios in there, if were playing Anaheim, your gonna want Quincey in there. It's never a bad thing to have too many defenceman though.

It isnt up on TSN yet, I'd say check later on.

Please, please, please tell me this is sarcasm?

TSN.ca broadband, find OTR, and look at todays date

These guys on the panel are idiots. They are saying Hossa was stupid for walking away from money and term. One guy said it was smart, and how he'd rather be in Detroit then Edmonton, but the other mopes said they'd rather be around all the kids. I like to win, and then listen to idiots, and then start winning again. Hossa made the best move, and smart for himself as well.
-
I really didnt know Hossa was this kind of guy. Really glad we brought him in.
-
I dont think they'll trade Lilja now, but I could see a Lebda/Meech package being offered to teams. Fast, smallerish d-man with offensive upside, will only cost 1.2 or 1.3 mil combined. I imagine they'd only move for draft picks.
-
Watching now. Holland says he got really lucky haha.
-
Biggest? More like only! Kopecky should be dealt to Pittsburgh, since according to them it's a slap in the face to steal there players. or whatever TSN said today.
-
Mac and Downey will sign for the league minimum each. Quincey will get 650k or 750k, Ericsson will be in the minors. There's room, Filpula isnt worth 3+ mil so I dont know where that leaves him.
-
Ok, well I understand that. I just think Downey is the perfect enforcer for this team, and McCarty is a Wing through and through. They aren't essential for a Cup run, but I'd like to have them there just in case.
-
Just because they didnt play a role in the playoffs, we shouldnt care? Downey and McCarty are important players during the regular season, on the bench, in the locker room. Fans dont see it as important, but a guy like Kenny Holland sure as hell does.
-
Give them both contracts, 2-way so you can keep them in Detroit even if they get waived, much like last year.
-
Good deal. Hainsey is big and physical, good on the PP as well. Atlanta had a ton of room and needed someone.
-
4.027 to get Downey, McCarty, Filpula and Chelios locked up. Mac and Downey league minimum each, so around 900k or 1mil for them Chelios for like 650$. 2,350,027$ left to spend..
-
I dont see the need. Keeping Hudler and Franzen, and having Hossa, makes Filpula kind of expendable. Plus, he's maybe worth 2.5, but I wouldnt even give him that. So if he really wants upwards of 3 to 4 million, lets just take the draft picks.
-
Yesterday I wake up and we've signed Stuart, and today Marian Hossa Kenny Holland is the man, to get Hossa signed to a 1 year deal is genius. Our top 9 forwards are amazing.
-
Not to mention, Kronwall will outscore him, and Stuart will have at least 25 points. New York are crazy.
-
Stuart and Kronwall deals are absolute steals.
-
Flash in the pan IMO. They should've learned from Blake.
-
Cowan and Hordichuk is nice, but what are they gonna protect? The Sedins and.... Besides, the Canucks already have Willie Mitchell, so they dont need anymore toughness.
