Great pick by Chicago. Beach is a monster.
-
Phoenix arent looking so bad right now, I wonder if there looking at Redden or Campbell though.
-
Jokinen to Phoenix for Ballard and Boynon and 49th pick.
-
Great trade by Calgary. Dump an expensive winger, pick up a cheaper young winger.
-
Sundin will not sign with the Montreal Canadiens. Tanguay is meh, for that pick it's a good deal.
-
Scott Niedermayer used to be one of my favorite players, but I cant satnd him after all this bulls***. If you dont have the heart to play the game anymore, retire already. Stop cheating by taking half the season off and coming back for the playoffs. Ddidnt work last year and wont work this year.

I hate how much players are getting overpaid. Carter at best, is a 3 million dollar player. Penner is more of a 2.5 million dollar guy. Just wondering but do the Flyers even have that much cap space?
-
San Jose are going to be terrible with Campbell next year. He's their only top 4 defenceman on the whole team. I expect to see Hainsey in a Sharks uniform next year.
-
Dont know about that one...

Good deal, outside of Tucker and Bell, the Leafs are softer then jelly. Plus Mayers is one of the better grinding forwards in the league. Did it make sense to make this trade right now? No, does that make it a bad trade? No. I expect the Leafs to be very busy tommorow.

Sundin. He dominates in Toronto playing with Antropov, he'd be an MVP playing with Zetterberg.
-
1.) Ovechkin 2.) Crosby 3.) Iginla 4.) Zetterberg 5.) Malkin 6.) Datsyuk 7.) Thornton 8.) Lecavalier 9.) Heatley 10.) Kovalchuk IMO. I know people will probably say the Iginla position is wrong, but he's the man. When he retires he'll be remembered as the best Calgary Flame EVER. Plus he was up for the Hart this year.

Direction the Wings should take in the Draft.

The Cam Neely comparison is not too far off, he doesnt have the skill, but he has the grit and the heart for sure. -
How does Nashville have the number 9 pick? I really hope this is all wrong, I dont want Schenn and Beach to go to trash Central teams. Plus I'm not really high on an undersized defenceman, yes I know, Kronwall, but I'd rather not play guess and check with another d-man.

We both make a post about Lucic at the same time I like the way you think Mr. Micheal! -

He wasnt in the 1st round, but can you honestly tell me you wouldnt have wanted the Wings to draft Lucic in 2006? Or Colton Gillies last year? These guys are big tough players who will also contribute offensively. No one is wanting a goon, we can sign them. But I mean, guys like that are hard to come by. Just to add, Kyle Beach, will be the toughest player drafted in this years draft. He will be drafted in the top 15 picks as well. I have no problem with the Wings drafting, that's the last thing to complain about. But I dont see the problem with people wanting the Wings to draft bigger tougher players, because it couldnt hurt. -
Why 4 players last year and only 2 this year? Congrats to Igor and Mr. Anderson, but I think Gilmour and Dino should be going in with them.

Anyone else interested in the Jackets' offseason?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to hckypete96's topic in General
Malones not a top line player. He's a good 2nd line power forward, but nothing more. I'd give him 3.5 at the max, if someone pays him 5-7 million there crazy. The Jackets will make improvements this summer, but will not make the playoffs. They have no centermen capable of playing the top line, Brule had the potential but Columbus ruined him, which is a shame. If I were Rick Nash I'd want to get the hell out of Columbus, I dont think they'll be Stanley Cup material for at least 4 or 5 more years. -
I've always wanted Smith on Detroit since he started playing in Edmonton. I dont believe it will happen because he's not Hollands type of player, but he'd be a good fit. Paired with Lidstrom or Lebda, his skating wouldnt really matter as long as he plays his physical in your face style. If we signed Smith I imagine he'd play like a more physical, a little slower version of Markov. As much as I like Smith though, I want Stuart re-signed.

Great GM for sure. Made a ton of mistakes that cost his team big time this year. I dont really think Kenny was the best, his moves were great, dont get me wrong, I just think George McPhee really helped the Caps this year.
-
In Calgary he was behind Phaneuf, Hamrlik and Regehr. That's where he's most effective, 4th defenceman.
-
I just see Hossa going to Montreal. They have money and want to waste it bad, why not do it on a 40 goal scorer?
-
Chelios was traded. Sundin can choose where he wants to go, and it wont be Montreal.
-
Non-factor. Hopefully they sign one of the other non-signed prospects now.

If you want the largest return, I think you could fetch something decent with Meech. Plays defence well, can pass and shoot, and is very smart in the the offensive zone and on the PP. He isnt very big, but neither is Bergeron but people still think he's worth something, and I'd probably say that Meech given decent playing time would be better then M-A-B.
