Oh dont get me wrong, I liked Stuart alot and want to re-sign him. I just dont know if Kenny would be willing to pay that much. No, no, no. I dont want Hossa anywhere near the Wings, he has the lure "Choke" all over him. Talented yeah, but cant win when it counts and doesnt have the heart needed to play on the Wings. He can stay in Pittsburgh.

Anyone who actually believes Sundin would go to Montreal is dilusional. He's stated pubicly many times he'd never play for them. Plus, if it came down to 6 million dollars on a 1 year deal with Detroit or a 10 million dollar per year 2 year deal from Dallas, and he chose Dallas, then he wasnt destined to win a cup. While I'd have rather seen the guy win one with Toronto because he's been the face of the franchise for years, I'd 100% want him to win it with my favorite team. I just think he'll re-up with Toronto.

Why is it the only thing the NHL wants to do anymore is ruin tradition? Enough already.

Good to hear. I want to have Quincey and Downey on the roster next year, Kenny is really improving over the past two or three years. Signing more physical players, building a team that can challenge for a cup every year.

Was shocked it wasnt Ovechkin. Not that Zetterberg doesnt deserve it, because he does. I was surprised because it was TSN and they didnt take the sexy pick, they actually picked the guy that earned it.

I would love for Tucker to come play for Detroit. I dont think he'll be bought out by the Leafs though, much too valuable if he can stay healthy and return to his old form. Mark Bell would probably be a more viable option, I think the Leafs will buy him out and I'd take him in a second.

Hudler cant hit, but Helm? You were watching the games right Opie? Helm was a hitting machine whenever he was on the ice. Be it on the forecheck, neutral zone or in his own zone. Were they huge hits? Nope, but he still hit. Helm has the potential to be a much better player then Kopecky, he's fast and physical and has a bit of a scoring touch.

Why would you say that? Yzerman was better defensively, had more goals and assists over his career, there production in the post season is very similar, and Stevie lead his team to more Stanley Cups. Sakic had a good wrist shot, Yzerman had a good slapshot, they both are great, and have tons of heart, but Yzerman is just better then Joe Sakic.

Yzerman. Points, goals, assists. 3 Stanley Cups as team Captain, his intangibles and his statistics make him better then Lidstrom in my book. No knock on Lidstrom, probably 2 or 3 on the all time list of defenceman, but I just think Yzerman was a better player and will probably be ranked higher.

I think they will sign one of Brian Rolston or Mats Sundin. Re-signing Stuart is important as well, but we have tons of cap space to use for this season. Re-signing Z and Franzen is great, but their new contract wont kick in until after 2009, meaning they can throw tons of money at veteran players looking for 1 year deals. So if we do sign someone not named Brad Stuart, I expect him to be a vet, one that has yet to win a cup (or in Rolstons case, just a hometown boy.)

Murph is actually a really smart guy, wouldnt mind him at all. Problem is MacLean would probably switch from defence to offence and let Murphy do the defence.

I hope they trade him, soft for a big man and not very good. He's 26, and hasnt progressed alot in the past 3 years.
