If they make the playoffs (which they will), then you throw out the regular season because it doesnt matter anymore. The Ducks will be a contender and tough to play against. That's why I'm hoping San Jose goes out and trades away all there youth for rentals, faces Anaheim in the first round and beats them up, making it much easier for us to put Anaheim away in the 2nd round or 3rd. (Because we will have to face Anaheim to win the cup).

Yeah, there are guys on the roster that wont take a beating. But teams know we're not the toughest, or the biggest, and sometimes that's an advantage (Calgary, San Jose) and others not so good (Anaheim). But I agree, a couple more big bodies couldnt hurt.

Playoffs and Regular season are 2 different things. As good as we are, were gonna get run over by the tougher teams. With 5 million in space and some injurie prone players, they will make deals. They wont shake up the team, but deals will be made.

I think that a bit of North American grit is a must. When we were winning cups, we had a mix of NA and Euros, and it worked. Untill we get the mix, we wont win. If I had a choice, 1st/2nd liner would be Ryder/Malone, 3rd/4th line big guy, Scott Thornton/Chris Gratton, and big defenceman R. Blake/Foote/Ward. With the amount of space we have, you know Kennys gonna make some moves, anyone of the guys I mentioned (with the exception of maybe Thornton ) could help this team out quite a bit. Scoring or toughness, or both in some cases. I dont really wanna lose Hudler or Filpula, but guys like Samuelson, Kopecky, Ellis, etc. could go and I wouldnt mind it.
