I was thinking about that yesterday. It wouldnt surprise me if Holland did something with MTL for a trade. Ryder's value is low, it isnt that he's bad, just Montreals system blows ass. He'd do great in our system. Sammy+4th-5th pick for Ryder would be great. I do like Sammy, but it wouldnt break my heart to see him traded.

After what I've seen with them this year, they are no different from the teams from the past. They'll be out in the first round for sure, riding Thornton and Nabakov into the ground will hurt them late in the season. It's ridiculous how bad there offence is. Cheechoo, Marleau, Michalek, and Bernier all have less then 20 points. I'd say Nabakov has proven himself this year, Doug Murray, Craig Rivet, Sandis Ozolinsh, Kyle McLauren. That's there top 4, what a joke. One last thing, how long until they name Thornton captain? Marleau, sucks. There is no other way to say. Thornton is better at every part of the game, and is a better leader.

If Pittsburgh would accept that, that'd be way better then trading Hudler for Malone. Hudler, if he continues on his pace could get us a big name forward/defenceman.

I was thinking about Blake the other day, he doesnt fight, but you know when he's on the ice, he isnt afraid to throw his weight around, and when douchebags like Keith Tkachuk start hitting our guys, Blake wouldnt be afraid to throw a big hit on him. Foote is more physical, I'd love to get either. Hudler for Malone I'd do in a second. I'd still ask Phoenix what would it take for Doan, and if the price wasnt too bad, I'd make the deal (Even in it involved Filpula or Kopecky) Also, if a guy like Asham or someone like him were available, I may give up Sammy for him.( I dont hate sammy, just if we could get Doan, he'd be useless for us on the 4th line. I think Crosby lost.... but it was really cool to see him drop the mits. He looks more and more like Yzerman as the games pass. Now he just gotta get rid of that visor... .

We got out worked and got hustled. I miss games like this, tough games very chippy. I was glad to see Danny jump on Jackman, kinda wish he had threw some punches. Nice to see Drake finally do something, he got rocked, but I laughed pretty hard when Mayers hurt his hand on the visor. Babcock made a huge mistake by putting in Ellis/Kopecky over Downey tonight. This game was the kinda game where Downey makes a living. They were targeting Datsyuk, he was fighting back the best he could, but if Downeys on the bench, he goes out, beats the s*** outta someone and it should stop, if not, he goes out and does it again. I like Ellis alot, but he just does not know how to hit. He comes in and turns side ways, or just gives soft pats on the back. I dont get it. Kopecky is ..... meh. Ozzie made some huge saves tonight, he didnt deserve to lose, but the Wings did, they didnt work today. Also, I really really hope Homer isnt out to long. (When are we gonna give Brad Ference a shot? There is literally no toughness coming out of the back end outside of Chelios and Lilja on occasion. Need more size and grit to beat teams like St Louis, who will be in the hunt come May, bank on it)

I love Drake, but he doesnt even hit anymore. I watch him get a chance to lay a huge lick on someone, and just skates right past them. I might call it "Red Wing Syndrome", but Downey is a tough son of a gun and goes against the standard. I just hope, he turns it around. He cant blame his helmet anymore, he just doesnt have it in him IMO. I think if he doesnt start to throw the body more, he may be on the way out. He's a good playoff guy, so that'll be the decider, I just dont think he's got it left in him to be a cheapshotter/big hitter. I think I've seen Datsyuk throw bigger hits then Drake so far this season

Bull.s***. I want Drapes back, but why not take out Ellis or Kopecky? They havent been doing much lately either. I like having him in the line-up so the guys feel safe. If someone gets run tonight, no one will even look at him. Anyways, 7-1 tonight. Cleary and/or Zetterberg get hat tricks and Draper scores.
