I really like the 95'96 team and the 96'97 team. They both had everything, I agree that without all the injuries we win in 96. I think you didnt like them as much because Ozzie wasent on the team anymore .....

You have to keep them together. Filpula, Sammy, Hudler and Cleary have all been great. ZDH need to stay together, they wont be the same players split up. Zetterberg will get worse, as will Datsyuk, same with Homer. The 3rd and 2nd lines have been productive, I dont see the need personally. When Gretzky and Lemieux were on the same team during the Canada Cup, they didnt split them up because they were magic together, to a lesser degree, so are Dats and Z. I think Lidstrom and Rafalski should be split up though, Lidstrom-Kronwall Rafalski-Lebda Chelios-Meech. It doesnt look great, but it spreds out the talent and still gives us an alright defence.

OLD TIME HOCKEY! I was watching the CBS/CHI game and at the very end, Vandermeer and Nash start shoving at each other AND THEN THEY GO! It was a great fight too, solid draw. The Refs let them go, the fans loved it. Ah, that was great

It's not the fact that McCabe is a horrible decision maker that makes the Leafs defence so bad, it's the fact that right behind McCabe on the depth chart is Kubina, who is WAY worse then McCabe and costs just as much. And to top it off they have Mr. Useless Andy Wosnewski. If Coliacovo ever got healthy, the Leafs defence might actually be decent. Kaberle-Kubina McCabe-Coliacovo White-Gill Stralman Too bad for T.O. that'll never happen.

I actually liked Deveraux ... But he's back on a line with Stajan and Steen, so he'll probably get 10-15 goals again this year for T.O. But with the luck we've been having with former Wings, he'll probably score a couple against us in our game against Toronto this year.

17 games into the season and Dom should be gone, only from Wings fans A couple of bad games and everyone already wants him gone. I cant wait to hear what happens if he starts winning. The thing is, our defence just isnt very good. Lidstrom, Rafalski and Kronwall. Chelios plays much much better at the end of the year/playoffs. Lilja sucks, Lebda is meh. And to top it all off Rafalski and Kronwall have played like trash the past 2 games. We NEED another defenceman. A proven #3 or 4 defenceman. Not Quincey, I want him here too, but it'd be at the expense of Lebda.

That's really to bad, I was hoping Todd would have a come back season. But once again I say, why in the world did he sign with the Ducks?

It's just one game. Ozzie can come in and play in need be. I will be worried if Dom loses on saturday however. Because whenever he gets pulled, he comes back the next game and plays out of his mind. If he gives up more then 2 goals on Saturday, we have a BIG problem.

I only saw the tail half of the 3rd so I cant say much, just looking at the stats. I kinda fell bad for Dom, 1 bad game he should retire, and Osgood CAN step in. Controversy?

I'd give up any prospect if it ment winning the Cup. That is the be all end all of hockey. Yeah, it'd suck to lose prospects, but to acquire Mats Sundin, and win a cup, that is better then having those prospects. Draft picks are nice, but people dont realize were a relativly young team, Chelios, Drake and Hasek are our "old" players. We have good talent in the farm and the prospect pool. I think Kenny is like anyone, he wants to win a cup, he wants to be the best GM in the NHL, and he's doing a good job of it, adding a Stanley Cup just makes it sweeter .

I was bored tonight, so I decided to watch a bunch of Wings brawls from the past, and found some I havent seen before. Willy and Booter against the Isles I was VERY surprised to see Willy go after Blake. People overlook how well he played in 98 because of the 2 Roenick goals he gave up, and the Langenbrunner goal. I dont agree however, the game after he gave up the softie, he shut out the Stars and they were done. Plus he was rock solid agaisnt the Caps.

I dont see why not. By the end of his career, he'll have 400 wins. 3 or 4 cups, starter+back-up, a jennings trophy, and a good career GAA and SV%. And by the time he retires, I'd imagine the title of "Best Back-Up Ever" would be his .
