you think Samuelsson on the point is terrible

Hamilton is still a good North american guy then Nah, other then Yashin, I dont really dislike Russians at all. I dont mind french canadians either, as long as they take the visor off when need be . -
Sure, but you'd have to waive/trade Lilja or Meech because we'd still have to save some cap room.

Where in the World is Carm...I mean Darren McCarty

He's probably working out by himself here in Calgary, im sure he still has the desire to play. A team will probably give him a shot during the season, I really hope he does the Joe Kocur thing and returns to the Wings just in time for the playoffs and provides tons of grit and leadership. Too abd it wont happen, but good luck to D-mac. -
That was funny, plus, it's only about DoucheBagscouldntownZetterbergeveniftheywantedtoo.

Great job aflac!!! 5-1 wings. Drake, Danny, Z, Lidstrom, Homer. Im surprised Downeys not playing tonight, too bad. Hopefully agaisnt Chicago.

I hate the Euro captain has never won a cup arguement, and it wont be an arguement when Lidstrom wins it this year anyways .

Ohlund, Mitchell, Bieksa, Salo, Miller, Kraicjek. Tell me, how is that not a good defence? Espicially with Loungo behind them. Ohlund and Bieksa are 2 great defenceman, Mitchell is one of the best shut down defenceman, Salo is great 2-way d-man, and Miller is a good veteran defenceman. Im not a huge fan of Kraicjek, but he's a good up and coming fella.

I dont think there defence is all that bad. Kaberle and Commodore are 2 of the more underrated defenceman in the league. Tim Gleason is an alright guy too, I've always been a big fan of Nic Wallin, but I really do think he's a good defenceman. They do have some bums like Dennis Seidenberg who's useless, but hopefully they do somehting about it, I've always had a soft spot for the Canes, Staal, Brindy, Williams, Whitney, Wesley, Cullen, Hamilton, Commodore. Bunch of good guys and canadian to boot! (Not sure about Hamilton, I think he is.) Yes, call me Grapes -
C'mon Kp and Lou, I'd have to say, that in my opinion, Cleary is a character guy, he plays hard, hits, forechecks, runs his mouth, fights every once in a blue moon. I know you'll say Im biased, but its just what I think. But for the most part I agree with you. A bit more north american talent couldnt hurt. I mean, at worst there taking away Kopecky and Samuelssons job, Im all for keeping Lilja, just as a depth d-man though. Sammy and Kopecky's jobs could be better served by my deadline dream pick-ups, Mayers and Ryder, and those are just suggestions, there's alot of other guys that'll be avaiable this season that I would like to see here, and if it's at the expense of those 2, no loss imo.

Hamilton just scored on a blast from the point, underated player. -
In the games I saw, he was hitting and skating well. Im not saying he's a superstar, im not even saying he's a good player, but I just want him to get an oppertunity here.

I was bored and got this idea a while ago. So, put together 4 lines of forwards with a 13th, and 3 sets of d with a 7th. And 2 goalies, for each time frame. As long as the player has played for the Wings during the certain time frame. Mine: 1990's Forwards: Brendan Shanahan-Steve Yzerman-Wendel Clark - Dream line for me Slava Kozlov-Sergei Fedorov-Igor Larionov - They always worked well Bob Probert-Stu Grimson-Joe Kocur - They'd kill everyone Kirk Maltby-Kris Draper-Darren McCarty -Always played great Dougie Brown/Martin Lapointe - Two of my favorites Defence: Nicklas Lidstrom-Larry Murphy - Always worked well Vladimir Konstantinov-Slava Fetisov - Always worked well Chris Chelios-Paul Coffey - They'd compliment each other nicely imo. Bob Rouse/Jamie Macoun - Gritty guys, good depth. Goalies: Mike Vernon - One of my favorite goalies Chris Osgood - Great back-up 2000's Forwards: Brendan Shanahan-Steve Yzerman-Todd Bertuzzi - A line I used alot on NHL06 Henrik Zetterberg-Pavel Datsyuk-Tomas Holmstrom - Amazing chemistry Luc Robataille-Sergei Fedorov-Brett Hull - Best 3rd line ever Kirk Maltby-Kris Draper-Darren McCarty - Same reason as before Daniel Cleary - He's my favorite player behind Yzerman, I wanted him on it. Defenceman: Nicklas Lidstrom-Chris Chelios - Worked awesome in the playoffs Brian Rafalski-Mathieu Schnieder - 2 great amercain defencemen, I'd imagine they'd play well Steven Duchesne-Mathieu Dandenault - French connection Nik Kronwall - Better then Hatcher Goalies: Dom Hasek Curtis Joseph - 2 of my favorites You dont have to give a reasoning if you dont want too, but you can if you want. Also, if some of you would like, you could do the 80's too. Be creative too

^ To RedWingsFanatic I hate using this point, buttt. The Ducks won last year, with mostly canadians, but important Europeans.

I was a superstar in the WHL scoring over 100 points in back to back seasons. I was drafted 2nd overall by the San Jose sharks. I played in over 500 games, scoring just over 300 points. I had one shot at the cup but came up short in 1997. I lasted in the NHL till 2000, then went to the Swiss leagues, and finally retired. Who am I?

Agreed. We have enough euro's, we need some North American talent. Back when we were winning cups, we had a great mix of both. Now, one is pre-dominate and the other not so much.
