Some of you seem to forget at one point in the season he was 5 spots back of first overall for goal scoring. Lead our team in goals for at least 2 weeks in the season. He was TAKEN IN THE FIRST ROUND BECAUSE OF HIS TALENT. And now that hes got confidence and a coach that beleives in him , give him Z or Dats as his center and he'll score 30 goals. *Sigh* I've said that at least 3 times.

I factor toughness more into the San Jose series. In the Calgary series we were much more talented and out played them in every game despite losing 2 two games.

I know he's pretty injury prone now. I guess it'd be a dream to have him playing with Drapes and Malts again , all of them playing like they did back in the glory days.

Are you saying Winchester and Asham are pylons? Winchester isnt a big scorer , but he is BIG. Asham got 11 goals playing on NYI's 4th line , He'd have at least 15 if he was playing with say Hudler.

Hes talking to players agents , thats a good sign! Still would love to see Gelinas here , he cant be too expensive. But hes not a top tier FA , so theres no point to rush.

Thats true. But signing a Winchester/Asham and having guys like Cleary , Maltby , Draper , Chelios and Lilja can help change the face of this team. They showed team toughness in the playoffs , adding a bit more couldnt hurt. Just so you know , I dont blame our loss in the playoffs on grit or toughness , I blame it on not being very healthy when Anaheim was.

Yeah , those horrid Oilers also let Sykora go too , He must really suck! Oh yeah , and they traded Ryan Smyth , man , he's gotta be terrible! Please , you have to give guys chances before you shoot them down , Have you even seen Winchester play? Obviosly , he isnt the solution to our top 6 problem , but he wouldve been the solution to our toughness problem.

Having to watch the horrid Oilers all season , This guy and Torres jumped out at me as tough guys who can play. Too bad we didnt sign him , but theres still a couple tough guys who can play on the market.

Why dont you go back and read the posts , anyone who said they wanted him said it because we wanted someone to stick up for Datsyuk and Zetterberg when they get run and cheapshoted , which they will. Signing Rafalski and Smyth would not hinder us from signing Zetterberg in two years , thats 2 years away , the cap could be at 60 million by then , it wasent impossible.

Who'd be stupid enough to not call Vladdy the meanest SOB ever , because thats exactly what he was. Plus he had more talent then Ovechkin. Im not saying that this team doesnt need euros/russians. Hasek was coming back regardless. Rafalski , while a great addition was to replace, actually not only replace but makes Schnieder looks bad hes so good. He really hasent done much other then those 2 , Hudler , Mark Cullen , Adam Berhoel and Brad Ference (Who I Like)

2 years down the road with Zetterbergs contract should not hinder us form signing a guy like Gelinas or an Asham/Fedoruk/Winchester. The most they'd cost us is 2.5 million and thats for BOTH. If "our plans" are for the future ,why'd we bring back Dom? This is the season we shouldve gone hard for the Cup.
