I think he's incredibly overated. He hasent done anything to impress me , oh yeah , except be a minus-4 agaisnt Philly in thr regular season. He cant make passes , and people say he can take over Schnieders PP time , He had 1 goal and it wasent even on the PP. His great powerplay work is all talk , He cant handle pucks well and if he has so much bad luck , strach(sp) him all season and keep him for the playoffs. Because his "bad luck" gets him injured EVERY season. I also cant stand this "potential" talk , He's 26 , he isnt going to get much better. He can throw the body , thats all , and it usually ends up with him being injured anyway. His "potential" is a 3rd d-man who can play secondary PP and PK units that gets injured and throws the body. Very regular player is what Kronwall is.

I remeber in either 99/00 or 00/01 when CuJo got injured , Schwab came in and went on a tear going like 6-1-2 or something. He was also goofy like Spezza in interviews , his laugh was always the worst one , it sounded like Goofy

Just whenever he got beat on a goal , most of the time he was getting moved laterally quickly , thing is , he was a better athlete then Giguere , and thinking about it , He was probably better then Giguere. Hmmmm , I guess the only comparison that could be made to Giguere is Giguere.

Good points , I agree with most of it , but I mean , who thought we'd get Hasek , Robataille and Hull in the span of 2 days. Granted it was a non salary cap era , but still. I really really want to see Smyth here , Im praying and hoping , we'll just have to see what happens on July 1st.

Why wont he come here ? He isnt worth 7 or even 6 million. He's worth what we'll offer 4.5 million. Calgary isnt a contender , he wants a stanley cup , were a contender. And dude , Toronto wont win a cup while Smyth is playing , It makes zero sense for him to go to NYI, Leafs , Flames , Oilers. None are contenders , hes stated many times he wants to go where he'd get the best chance to win the cup.

No he isnt , Why would he go to a team that wont make the playoffs till he's at least 36 , and when he's that old he wont be as effective. It makes zero sense for Smyth to go to edmonton.

Smyth and Homer is better then having a sniper , We have guys like Cleary and Zetterberg who can put the puck in the net with there stiffling shots. He helps our PP more then a sniper would , because , what a goalie cant see , he cant stop. He cant see the pucks if Smyth's standing in front. Add in Smyth had something like 12-14 PP goals and Homer had 13 , guys that take a beating to get the puck in the net are much more important.

He'll probably only get 2-3 million. Lets say Bertuzzi signs for 1-2 million and Chelios signs for 800k. We still have enough space to get a Ryan Smyth (3-4.5 max though) , and if we lose Markov , Sarich or Hannan are gritty guys. Then you have Hudler who could be used as trade bait to get a gritty defenceman.
