I really do think we can get Smyth , and if Bertuzzi is about the cup as apposed to the money at this stage is his career , I think he'll stay. I agree with the Sarich/Markov thing too , Markovs good season and great playoffs would make me want to keep him. But Sarichs size would make me interested in him, Plus I hear hes a good team guy. Either would suit our team great !

I remeber that , He tried fighting Gary Roberts in 05/06. He put him in a body lock and tried to body slam him. I like fighting in the game , so I'll say it , Putting someone in a body lock and trying to slam them , Is more embarresing then fun to watch. I always watch fights on YouTube of the former wings , Guys Like Konstatinov , McCarty , Probert , Kocur , Lapointe. God Damn , I want an enforcer !

Because if we had Smyth and Holmstrom and a healthy Schnieder , Our powerplay would be deadly. Smyth brings an added large body and some grit. Two 30 goal scorers that can score from the goal line , or anywhere esle for that matter , And they'd be on different lines. He's a leader in the locker room , and shows up playoff time. He'd be a huge plus for our hockey team , Even though he does everything Holmstrom does , having 2 of anything is never a bad thing.

Hes here for 3 years , You get a Neil/Asham on a line with him and Drapes and Maltby automaticly becomes the best agitator in the league , he can run around , do whatever he wants , and Let Asham kick the guys ass that tryed to push Maltby. And his elite PKing is reason enough to keep him. I'll give you an example , You want Franzen to replace him ? I recall Franzen not being able to clear a puck on the most important PK of the year. We lost all games after that. Maltby would've cleared that puck, You can be sure of that.

I'd rather we draft some grit. We havent drafted grit since Lapointe and McCarty. I really think your overating what some of our prospects can do. Larson cant go get his 10-15 wins in the swedish league and Axelson can go score his 30 goals in his elite league. Our drafting is fine , but we wont be getting guys out of now where like Datsyuk or Zetterberg anymore.

And your underestimating Hartnell. A 20 goal scorer , a possible 30+ goal scorer, Plays with an edge , fights , hits , has good speed. Fedorov is a shadow of his old self , I'd take him back , not for 6 million.

He used to score clutch playoff goals , I dont even remeber the last time he scored a playoff goal , Probably 01-02. I'd take him back if he can get his groove back , If he cant , Then its a no.

One of these days I'd like to see the headline "Wings trade 10 ,5 point per season Swedish prospects for Jonathan Toews" That'd be the day , I agree I've had enough of soft swedes that average 3 points per season in the Swedish leagues

I can tell you right now , Helm wont be a 4th line center. he'll be more of a 2nd/3rd line Center. He has great offensive capabilties , and he's good defensively and he scraps too. Abdelkader can be either a Neil or a Maltby. I love Kirk , but I'd love to have a Neil like player. These are 2 gritty prospect. We have a bunch of useless european prospects that will probably never make the Wings or the Grand rapids, I mean , Who are you excited about when we sign them ? Im looking forward to Helm and Emmerton , thats about all.

You could tell he hated that call agaisnt Datsyuk when they brought it up

If it were Smyth or Kozzie , and someone took Kozzie , I'd call you crazy. If we cant get Smyth , then I wouldnt mind Kozlov , as hes a fast guy , just I dont want another small body , thats the only problem I see with it.

They should move all the teams back. The expainsion ones that is. Phoenix to winnipeg , Colorado to Quebec. Atlanta and Nashville to a northern american state , or a canadian province. Hockey could become so much more popular if we just put it in the right places.

The Leafs and the Habs have hindered what a defenceman is worth in the NHL these days. McCabe - 5.5 mil , WAY Overpayed Kubina - 4 mil , WAY Overpayed , One of the most overpayed Players ever for what he does. Markov - 5.75 mil , Habs are nuts. I cant wait to see what Scott Hannan and guys like Greg De Vries and Souray will get in the off season , way over payed again Im sure. Schnieder and Markov probably wont cost us too much , even with the over payed defenceman out there (imo).
