Problem is , We dont have any prospects in our system (Maybe Grigenko) that could come up to the pros and be a star.Most of our prospects could use AHL time to get there game better. Howard needs time , and yes I mean that. Do you actaully think he could come up and get 10 to 15 wins next year ? I dont , maybe in a years time when he gets used to playing more games. But at his development level now , hes not totally ready.

a healthy Bertuzzi can be the best player in hockey. If he ever gets his 03/04 form back , he'll be a monster

Asham can play Center if im not mistaken. I'd take Asham over Hudler any day. Another guy whos cheap , huge and tough, Chris Gratton from florida , wouldnt cost alot and gives us alot of size on our bottom 2 lines (Kopecky , Gratton , Asham , Maltby, Franzen) BTW , Nice Burkey avatar

You say you watched him when he was in Vancouver. I dont buy it , He was never a floater in Vancouver, and he was a floater for use like 30% of the time , because he was INJURED. Can you imagine our 2nd line with Smyth-Fedorov-Bertuzzi

Jones is an idiot. I've always hated him , Ever since he was a dirty avs back in 97. Why wouldnt Bert come back ? He doesnt want 6 to 7 million from Florida or Chicago. Hes 33 , he wants a cup and will take a lower contract to get one

Anyways , I agree with you about the fighting mentallity of a team , Thats why I miss our 97,98 teams, McCarty , Kocur , Lapointe , Shanny , Hell , Vladdy could kick canadian boys asses. I was equally impressed by the wings , But I do disagree with the best team winning , I was dissapionted we didnt beat them , but happy we got that far. I knew Markov had the scrapper in him, and to fight such a useless 1 dimensional player ( That dimension beign fighting ) tells me alot about him, That he is a badass. Good to have you back Lou ! Put them on different PP lines.

Roberts was out for almost a quarter of a season. He was playing with Florida , on a line with Kolnik and Gratton. When he got to Pittsburgh , he scored 4 goals , and 8 or 9 assists in only a couple of games. Plus , he was fighting (and beating) young guys like Gleason , Neil , and King (D.J). I know Hudler scored 15 goals with limited ice time , but going into next season , He doesnt even have a roster spot , I doubt he'll get that many next year with us. I'd rather him go somewhere esle so he can get his shot and become the 30 goal scorer that he can be.

I'll take a 40 year old Roberts over a 23 year old Hudler anyday. And foolishly added Maltby ? Hardly , he earned his deal , Guys like Hudler , earned a seat in the pressbox

To old , and cant perform in the playoffs anymore. Dallas - He sucked more then Turco , in the 06 playoffs. San Jose - Wasent great vs. Nashville , and was borderline the worst player in the series agaisnt us.

Lets drop this Markovs injury prone s*** right now please. He was injured for 3 games the whole season , and never missed a playoff game. Lidstrom missed 4 games , is he injury prone , nope. (Although , 1 or 2 games were agaisnt Chicago and Babs didnt want him playing agaisnt scrubs.)

Since this was about bargin free agents. Gary Roberts is the definition of grit. He's getting up there in age , and probably wouldnt want much more then 1 or 2 million, considering he wants to be close to Toronto and wnats to win a cup , Detroits the best option.

Smyths so much better then Guerin. Guerins not even that good of a player anymore , add in he's turning 37 and that gives me no logical reason if Im Ken Holland to sign him. Smyths 6'1 btw , thats size

Yupp , all there fault for shaking there playoff chokers tags. Seriously , They were great , Zetterberg wasent even 100% and he got 7 goals. Pretty sweet if you ask me
