Apparently Quincey while falling pitchforked the puck over the glass.... Just brutal. -

A couple of good chances, at least they seem to be awake now. Nyquist is on a tear. -

Can the PP do it again? This game has been weird already. -

Wow, a PP actually coming through when we badly needed it?!? -

He won't make any trades. He believes getting Datsyuk, Franzen and Weiss back is enough. Well last time I checked none of those guys are defenseman and we need one badly. Holland's part of the problem. -

Holtby is having a rough go of it this season, and Green still out for the caps. Wings show up and they can get this much needed sweep, LGW! -
I'm not a huge Gilbert fan, but he's having a good season statistically this year with Florida. Boyes? He's worked well with Johnny T, but something tells me they want him for his shootout prowess.

Zetterberg and Kindl in for Cleary and Lashoff tonight.

Hypothetical: What Coach Would You Replace Babcock With?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to cnot19's topic in General
After seeing what Jon Cooper has done with the Lightning, and before that dominating in the AHL, I'm going to go with Blashill. He's very Babs like but I get the vibe players like him more and he's had success everywhere he's gone. That's the kind of guy I'd like to see coach the Wings if Babs should leave. -
Well we all have wondered why Babs keeps playing him
-
Then Abby takes a huge hit in a blowout game and no one raises an eyebrow.
-
Wasting away in the minors while Dano falls into the corner on every other shift... but he's good in the locker room
-
Big E, -4 tonight..

Absolutely they do. It shows that you're pissed off that the guys you're playing are kicking your ass all over the rink and on the score board. The Wings lose like a bunch of wimps, they take it lying down. It doesn't hurt anything to show some goddamn moxie and be pissed off that you're losing an important game to a conference rival that is going to take an important 2 points from you. And I'm sure someone will say "Well they should be focused on scoring goals... not starting scrums/fights" Well, clearly they aren't doing a good job at the whole scoring goals thing, so do something! Don't roll over and die like they do.
-
Bad goal by Gus, but even worse defense in front of him, that's the first bad goal of the night.
-
The Wings have no passion what so ever, no drive to the net, no scrums after the whistle, no cycle game down low. Just going thru the motions.
-
Alfie has been brutal since coming back from injury.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
It couldn't hurt to add a body who is at least an NHL caliber player to help us out, too much dead weight (Cleary/Quincey) and the walking wounded right now. Holland will sit on his hands and hope for injured guys to come back, but that might not be enough, and even if it is, might be too late by the time they're all healthy. Taking a look, 3 teams are clearly out of it. Buffalo, Calgary and Edmonton. Among guys I could see being available that could help us.. (Not sure the price, or the want, but they'd be better then watching Dano fall over himself every night and Q fire pucks into the corner when the net is empty) Edmonton - Gagner/Smyth/Petry/Potter Buffalo - Moulson/Ott/Stafford/Ehrhoff Calgary - Backlund/Cammalleri/Smid/Russell -
What a brutal game. And the teams around us are winning too...
-
Eaves shouldn't be on the point on the PP, Dekeyser shouldn't be on the PP, Cleary shouldn't be on the PP..... these guys get millions of dollars to coach and are out to lunch alot of the time.
-
Can we trade Kyle Quincey anywhere? Lashoff would've put that in...
-
Quincey just missed a WIDE OPEN NET.
