I really don't know why Smith doesn't get used on the PP. He's got great offensive instincts, is he prone to turnovers? Ya, in the D-zone, in the O-zone he's pretty good. Babs doesn't seem to use Smitty right. He needs to skate with the puck and be in the offensive zone instead of trying to be a defensive defenceman.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Doubt Holland makes a deal. He'd have to get creative with cap space and roster size and I just don't see anything from him the past few years that tells me he'd do anything. He'll work the phones, say that Weiss and Datsyuk are our deadline pickups and be done with it. That said, if Ott or Stuart were somehow brought in it'd be great. Vanek.... that'd be a dream, not gonna happen. -
If we win tonight.... every player on the team owes Gus a beer.

How is it he was cleared so quick? Be cautious with concussions, especially when it's one of our best forwards. Rather he had sat out against Florida and continued to heal as opposed to getting him back for an assist and one point. These injuries are going to kill us, just too many to our important guys.

Even worse Franzen is headed to IR with concussion symptoms. Whoever is in net tonight is gonna have to stand on his head to get 2 points. The injuries are gonna cripple this season.

Andersson might come back and get into the lineup, but once the rosters expand after the trade deadline he's toast. Sheahan and Glendening are both better, faster, and provide more. He's slow and wins faceoffs, Glendening is fast and wins faceoffs. Sheahan brings some physical game and scoring pop. Holland has really f***ed up the roster management this year, but so long as were in the hunt past the trade deadline the best line-up will be on the ice. Till then, well....

With the way the young guys are playing, I'd be calling around telling teams they can have our 3rd rounder if they would just take Sammy off our hands. He is no longer an option for Babs, and his salary is hand cuffing us from icing the best roster when healthy. Sammy only has a list of teams he won't go too, if there's a team with cap room that'd like an extra draft pick, give Holland a call!
