Very excited. kipwinger makes valid points, some that I agree with, but damn I'm just excited that Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov and Shanahan will be on the ice again together. Probably more excited for the Alumni games then the actual Winter Classic.

Going to be good for us one way or another, no more dead weight and the only roster issues will be getting more kids in the line-up. We'll also have the flexibility to go after a big name should we need too.

Well said, the way it's going, he's going to be their Larry Murphy before long. And agreed on Weiss over Clarkson. Much less pressure on Weiss haha.

He's pretty much exactly Toronto's Weiss so far. And as much as I liked him in NJ, Clarkson at 5.25 is a much, much worse contract to have then Weiss. He has a track record, and is slumping hard right now. But Clarkson had one season of 30 goals, 15 in a short season, and can fight, so that boosted his value. As of now, neither are any good and both contracts look bad. But I'll stick with ours and hope he can figure it out.

Emmerton is the only option. They don't have salary cap space to make any other recalls unless it was in case of emergency or use of LTIR. Holland's fault. I'm sure Babs would like to have a look at a player that has a future here, but he just can't right now.

Dallas has lost alot of bodies on the back end. Pittsburgh has too. Just get rid of Quincey, game after game, he just keeps making mistakes. He's -12 again after tonight, that's not good enough for a top 4 defenceman who plays 20mins a night, 29 years old who we gave up a 1st round pick for. He couldn't hit the net from 5 feet away, I've seen him miss enough this year to know. UFA at the end of the year, move him so we have some roster flexibility. Play some kids, couldn't be much worse and they will be part of the future, Q won't be.

As someone who's a big proponent of fighting in hockey, I hate to see s*** like this because I know what it's eventually going to lead too. Stuff like this by Thornton, and John Scott attacking a skill player, is going to get fighting banned in hockey. This isn't the 70's or the 80's anymore, enforcers need to provide protection and keep teams honest. Not attack players who are considerably more talented then them, clean hit? Sure, please do. That's your role, dirt like this? You're going to cost yourself a job down the line. When even Don Cherry (pro fighting, pro Bruins) is visibly upset by it, you know it's not good.

That's a fact. Still, tough to lose to such a s***ty team. Especially with the rest of the teams in the division doing well tonight.
