Am the only one who think Filpulla is being slightly selfish if doing this purely to get more money? To begin with, he already earns more than needed to have a great life, and secondly and more importantly if he ends up getting more it could mean other guys like Downey and McCarty could be out of a job altogether if his higher pay takes up too much of the cap. He didnt exactly have the greatest season to deserve a high pay either.

Apart from the fact Carcillo and Barch are MW's...Ive forgotten you're point. Downey is a heavyweight, who made his reputation from knocking someone out in one punch. Thats a scary reputation. Ever wondered why there were only 2 noticable cheapshots on the wings this year? (The one on Drake, cant remember who did it; and Lappy...)

He is 3 inches taller so obviously is loaded with far less muscle than Downey. Im sure Downey would make someone on the avs think twice...and we all know who they just signed.

Why do so many people think Downey isnt intimidating? Hes only 6 foot yet is 220lbs...hes loaded with muscle and can go with the top heavies...I wouldnt want him coming after me.

And you call Downey dumb with posts like that? The only time McCarty got into a fight was when we were WINNING. Downey was easily the most disciplined enforcer in the entire NHL last season. Seriously, I think half the people on this board are confusing the wings with some other sports team with the crap that some people write.
