Have to agree that even though I've always felt Abdelkader is an awful fighter, he looked alot better there. He's looking a little better with each fight. It's all about experience. The more he fights the better he'll get.

Funnily enough Darryl Boyce had a fight against Tomas Tatar of all people earlier in the season in the AHL.

Not to mention GR has recently signed Mike Hedden, another solid middleweight fighter from the ECHL. Kolosov isn't as strong as he used to be. He's lost some muscle this season and it shows. He's been ragdolled in his two fights this season. Pare is just one of those guys who will come out swinging when provoked. Good little player Pare. Been finding the net alot this season. He just can't defend. Smith hasn't been as physical since his injury which is understandable. Smith is a surprisingly good fight. Could easily become one of those physical defense fighters, but I doubt Detroit wants that. Tatar...just wanted to be part of the Toronto brawl I think. He did OK though, going against someone who fights several times a year. Grand Rapids games are never boring. Everyone who's a member of redwingslive get down tonight to watch the Griffins!

Last season, that would have just been considered a highlight reel hit. Guys like Matt Cooke have given big hits a bad reputation and it sucks. I agree with what someone said about Kronwall. If he throws one of his huge hits he's gonna easily be called for 5 and a game at this rate. Whatever happened to keeping your head up? It reminded me a little of Stuart's hit on Umberger, just not as devastating. That was two seasons ago and there was no penalty called (very rightly). Awful call.
