Definately my favourite pick behind Sheahan. Don't really know too much about him, but I noticed his 3 fights last year as well His size will definately be of use he can do well in the AHL to make it to the NHL. Hopefully the next Todd Bertuzzi (the pre-Moore Bertuzzi) if I can be so bold as to make such a comparison!

That team would get beat up sooo badly in the AHL. Especially with a 4th line like that.
-
But he can create energy, is probably the biggest hitter in the league and the most feared heavyweight. Which is what you want in a 4th line player. He's not the worst hockey player either. He's a better skater than Downey was and Downey managed to spend a full season with us.

It's OK, Pavel is training him to be a supreme dangling superstar Seriously though, there is noone better to do the actual job of enforcing then Boogaard. Playing hockey...well...we'll leave that to Pavel's camp

Doesn't seem like many people are happy with this draft! Im a bit 'meh' about it. An anti-climax waiting so long for us to draft someone so...uninteresting!
-
Did a bit of research...all I found out was that he got a 5 min boarding major some time in the 08-09 season. Height 5'10'' (178 cm) Weight 176 (80 kg) Meh. Lets see what he does in GR. Edit: Turns out he's actually 5'11, 194lbs...now Im interested

I wish people would at least watch a Grand Rapids game once in a while Im personally a big fan of Pyett. He managed to be conistantly good as opposed to Kindl who continued to be good once game and horrific the next. Also Anyway, when they say they're looking for size I assume they mean in the forwards department. Out of the guys they had contracted last season, the only one that could be described as big or tough was Jamie Tardif and even he's only 6'1, 215lbs/may not have his contract renewed (which is a travesty!).

don't mess with me Im one crazy mofo. I once popped a cop 'cos he wouldn't gimme my props in Oaktown.
-
No, but it allows my head to grow that little bit more.
-
Cheers mate! Yeah I think its ended thanks to plusing repping all most posts in resposne.
-
What are you seriously on about? No one mentioning drafting "zero risk tough guys." We're just talking about getting some bigger bodies in our team. You need some chill pills...and some nausea pills.
-
Ive only heard good things about his play and attitude since being sent down to the AHL. Since he's been sent down he's been first on the ice and last off every practice session. Seems like hes trying to turn things around. So I'd be all for it, personally.

Seems a small group of posters (or one guy with multiple accounts) has been repeatadly negging all of my posts. Impressive, no? He/they have negged me about 50/60 times in the last 24 hours. Im just a little peeved off

They should re-name some of these awards the Pavel Dastyuk award for greatness.

-7... Absof***inlutely.

I reeeeeally dont want to watch a few hours of drafting if Detroit just trades down again... edit: yeah cos this really deserves a -2

I disagree. There's another Stevie in another sport who's equally legendary in that regard...
-
This has made the offseason that bit more exciting...
-
No it doesn't. He's saying he'll get one if he has the cap room for one.
-
Have you learnt how to make a sig that's within the rules yet?
-
They don't care. They seem happy to let the standards of this forum drag further and further down.
-
If he's looking for an Aaron Downey or Brad May type, then the market is anything BUT slim pickings.
-
Is that because players would be scared of Abbys fearsome might?
-
He did! He said himself he was pushing for Holland to sign May for years! And again, he is! His Anahiem teams were always tough, he's always openly praised his tough guys and enforcers in general...I dont know what else to say...
