Oh brilliant. Someone brings up the NHL video game for some original hilarity. How in the hell is Asham going to command a salary TRIPLE to $1.5m? He'll be lucky to make a mil. You should read my earlier post about how Asham is 32, wasn't anywhere near his career best season and has had his salary decline over the past 3 seasons despite point production increasing.
-
Same here Asham is top of the list because hes an exciting fighter who can play hockey and put up decent numbers. As for the poster above saying he'll get a huge payrise; negative. He's 32 and had had more productive seasons than this one past and his pay has slowly declined from $950k in 2007 to the $640k it is now. If it goes up, it wont be by much.

I went on and on how we should sign Mike Comrie last year instead of Jason Williams...I stand by my decision and I still think we should sign him. Hes put up good numbers playing on, to be honest, god awful teams (49 points in 76 games for the 2008 Islanders). I reckon he could do better with a skilled team like Detroit. That would be instead of Bertuzzi. Id still like to see Asham or Winchester signed for the 4th line as well to complete a pretty impressive roster. Comrie + Asham/Winchester could potentially cost a cap hit of around $2m +/- a few $100k. Sorted, yeh? I know. I should be a GM. edit: I used the "£" sign instead of "$"

He got absolutely ripped to shreds on the front of every newspaper:
-
He has shown glimpses that he has the skill to be an NHLer. Sadly, he doesn't seem to show anything more than being a 3rd/4th liner and even then the glimpses of skill he shows are all to rare and hes been very inconsistant this season and posted up some disappointing numbers with just 12 goals in 76 games. The whole of the Grand Rapids team was very inconsistant last season, but Emmertons numbers have never been impressive since he arrived in 2007. As for his skill set...hes not the most physical...hes a decent skater and has a good set of hands and is a solid 2-way player, but just very inconsistant and can be invisible for large chunks of a season.

We havn't had a decent goalkeeper since 1998. As a goalkeeper myself, I have no idea what the hell Green did. He didnt get his body behind it and didnt even move his hands into the path of the ball. FFS.

OR how about you actually back up your opinion instead of making short crap posts like "hes a tool anyway"? The quality of posting on here has slowly declined over the the last couple of years and short, worthless posts like that add nothing to the discussion. "LOL"

He was brilliant in Grand Rapids. Much better than Kindl. Maybe you should watch a player before commenting on him, eh?

I voted for everyone. We'll draft 'em all!

And whats with Bertuzzi? Averaged 3/4 fights a year comes to Detroit and nada. Abdelkader is a nasty piece of work in the AHL, comes up the NHL and goes quiet (although he was better in the playoffs). Ericsson again was very quiet in that department this year after I was expecting alot more from him. At least Eaves reversed the trend.
-
Lashoff is more physical than Quincey so a pre-Wings Stuart (the one who layed out a heavy hit every few games and a couple of fights a year) may be a decent target for him.
-
This is more an AHL signing then anything. (I minused you for being annoying)

Someone from Ireland supports Man Utd...theres a first
-
I approve of this signing A step up from Meech and at least three steps up from Lebda at any rate.
-
Flyers are taking this in seven.
-
Avery cos he does funny s***.
-
I forgot Meech existed

Would a real gritty fighter help or hurt this team?

All said and done, who could really say no to Derrick Boogaard? -
I hope we see the real regular season Philly in these next two periods. And by that I mean, I hope they pound on the Hawks.
-
Philly are taking this thing in game 6. A win tonight will prove that. Lets go broad street!
-
Please dont quote jollymania. I have him on ignore for a reason as it hurts my eyes reading the drivel he posts.
