I dont want to see him called up for the playoffs if he isnt gonna play though. Thats just kicking a guy when hes down. Grand Rapids dont need any more toughness but they could do with some leadership.

Callahan got a beauty of KO win on Friday night (to complete his Gordie Howe).

Should have waived Lebda instead of May

2010 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - March 3rd, 3:00 PM ET

Jody Shelley to NYR for a draft pick (not known which) Brashear is done for the Rags and probably the league (thankfully) after clearing waivers today. -
Feel that may be the end of May in the NHL. One of the NHL's last true warriors is being put out to pasture a bit too soon I feel.
-
So does May. Other teams looking for fights go after him instead of our other guys, like Winchester last night. He wasnt happy at being a scratch the other night in Dallas so he went out looking for a fight on his first shift. Either that, or he would just run our guys all night to prove his worth. We have other guys who can play on the PK. We dont have anyone else like May. We only need him dressed against teams like St Loius, Anaheim, Calgary etc. anyway. Thankfully we have a very soft division with Nashville and Chicago being soft as butter and Columbus not being far behind.
-
I do. I would put May in the line up when we play tougher opposition instead of Maltby. Personally I think Ericsson would be able to handle most of the "pests."
-
Williams isnt putting up the numbers...injuries or not. When everyones healthy, he would be my favourite to be a healthy scratch along with May. No point paying a guy $1.5m to sit in the pressbox.

Griffins were on the road tonight so TKO wasnt with them.
-
Not many people on here seem to have. I dont know why. They're very entertaining games with decent banter in the stream chat. Plus people get to see our future stars in action on nights when Detroit aren't playing and wouldnt make such ridiculous claims about guys that aren't NHL ready like Kindl.
-
Delmore especially has been a tool.
-
Hopefully TKO will be debuting tonight for Grand Rapids against Texas.
-
*Dances* The deals a good'un!
-
Heres to TKO making an already tough Grand Rapids team that little bit tougher
-
Hopefully its as good as least seasons 5th.
-
His first fight he was responding to a dirty hit/knee thrown on Evan McGrath, the second (the one in that video) Brent went after him after Abs threw a big hit earlier in the shift and ended up crosschecking him until he dropped them (and ended up getting TKO'd for it.) Not sure what to make of it really. I think he just needs to be more comfortable in taking part in the post-whistle and behind the play stuff at AHL level. Hopefully when his roster spot is safe he will.

I did a dance when I saw this trade. An actual desk chair dance. Grand Rapids are already a very tough little team...this will just make them tougher. If TKO (thats his name now) can stay free of injuries and get a good run of play going theres no reason he cant be the 6th/7th Dman in Detroit.
-
And keep Lebda instead?
-
Jiri Hudler says whaa? Calgary deserves a shout out in this as well. Despite losing Prust and Phanuef.
-
Youve put one of the NHL's softest teams in between two of the toughest/gritty. Bravo.
-
Same old Griffins...
