I wasnt saying Kronwall wasnt a decent hitter, I was just saying Downs hits did more damage than some people seemed to think. Kronwall may have a reputation for occasionally laying someone out, but Downey's reputation was that hes a goon and he might as well not carry a stick on a shifts for all the good it did him. He always looked to hit, cos he couldnt really do much else. Brad Stuart is indeed an intimidating hitter in comparison to Kronwall, because hes pushing 220lbs, which I think brings me back to whatever my original point was on the last page.

Dont be an ignorant prick. Downey was a hitting machine. I assure you the hits along the boards he constantly threw SEVERAL TIMES EVERY SHIFT were far more damaging hits that what Kronwall throws. Downey is 225lbs and he scared the opposition s***less every time he was on the forecheck. They'd have their head up constantly and very often were reluctant to go to the corners to retrieve pucks. Not saying May doesnt have a similar effect, but your Downey hatred is really something else.
