Downey was an enforcer, not a goon. Thats the difference. I couldnt give a s*** for goons like Brashaer, Pronger and Downie. Although I wouldnt mind on my team, they dont provide anything except some tasty actions. Enforcers do. Hence why Lidstrom, Zetterberg and Babcock all praised Downey for his work in the 07-08 season. Enforcers are useless. Thats why ONLY 29 teams in the NHL have one. And thats ONLY why Detroit had TWO during their 07-08 cup run. Anyone who replies to my post, I shant read it. I really dont care about what you have to say.

Id probably say 4th or 5th in the West at worst. 2nd or 3rd if we have a largely injury-free season. JLA is going to be reeeeally empty and reeeeally quiet.

The highest Jason Williams has managed in the last 4 years is 36 points. And 3 points in 24 playoff games. Guys who could achieve that and more: Pyatt, Comrie, Bertuzzi even Grier. Hell Im pretty sure an enforcer with even the biggest of cement hands could put up 3 points in the playoffs.

Thats because hes only been fighting for a few years. And to be fair, he an OK fighter. Give him a few full seasons in the NHL and about 6 or 7 scraps a year and he'll be a solid middlewight in no time.

I hope he retires back in 2005...

Ericsson CAN actually fight though. Lilja's problem in fighting was he just never threw enough...or any at all.
