No one cares. On the subject of Tootoo, not much to hate about him or anything that screams possible buyout. I was disappointed that MLive article even listed his name as a possibility. One of the leagues best pound-for-pound fighters, although he had a poor fighting year last season, and put up 8 points (the same as Emmerton and Miller) in 42 games (less games than Emmerton and Miller) on very limited minutes (about a third less than Emmerton and Miller). Hopefully that's the last of that.

My thoughts on Callahan: I watch a lot/most Griffins games and Callahan is usually a stand out performer. GR coach Jeff Blashill has really raved about Mitch this season. Although he only scored 11 goals in 70 regular games, he must have hit the pipe about a dozen times or more from the games I saw and was at his best when playing on a skilled line. A real agitator at heart though. When he gets to the NHL he'll be right up there with Maltby. It's not usual to see more than one player go after him after a whistle, just in the last game a few days a go at the buzzer about three Barons players went straight after him. Didn't fight as much this season, which was probably down to injury. He got beat up pretty bad in two fights early on in the season which seemed to knock his confidence a bit. Still hits everything in sight and down low in battles along the boards there's no one better than Mitch on the team. His defensive game is great, physical game has declined but his offensive game has come leaps and bounds, if still not quite there yet. I'd expect him to make an impact in preseason with some physical games, but don't see him getting a call up yet with the Wings/Holland quite keen to put skilled prospects on the 4th line when a spot opens up. Call-ups with Holland are never about how well you've played or your role.

Are Griffins games still not being show on redwingslive? Drum needs to hit me up. We can't have that.

If they are going to ban hitting, they should at least make it mandatory to teach these kids how to deliver a check and how to take and avoid one so that they aren't disadvantaged when they progress.

No. To the OP, I think both Eaves and Tootoo play valuable roles within the team. If Bert isn't 100% and can't produce, the argument for having him in over either of them is silly. Babcock, as much as I think he is one of the best coaches in the league, has let himself down a little this season with his odd line combinations. Keep it simple, keep it sensible. If it works, roll with it. Eaves-Emmerton-Tootoo worked, very well. No reason to change anything, especially not knee-jerk reactions after a bad game and especially not knee-jerk reactions to the only line which has worked consistently all season long. My 2 cents. What do I know.

I thought we'd seen the last of pointless font changes...also line threads. There will never be an end to people saying silly things though. Jimmy Howard is an all star goalie. Wouldn't have anyone else.

What an inspiration this man is. The human body is an amazing thing, especially the brain. His appearance at Yzerman's jersey retirement is probably my favourite Red Wings moment of all time.

He's hardly going to get back to his best without playing. Form is temporary.

Don't agree with White and Tootoo being scratched. Sigh.

Think Bertuzzi is done personally. Not sure how a back problem that lasts this long can ever recover enough to play such a demanding sport. Shame. When he was at his best he was a force.

Reports saying Tootoo is a scratch whilst Eaves plays with a face guard? Really? I know Babcock is struggling at the moment but use a bit of common sense please. Especially against Anahiem and the fact Tootoo should be on 3 goals now if not for the refs. Sigh.

If TooToo was on a line with Datsyuk for a billion games he'd have more to show for it than ONE point. Babs is straining a bit under pressure.

At the end of the day, Emmerton is a dime-a-dozen bottom six player with absolutely no stand out qualities at all. Worse of all for a 4th liner he plays a limited physical game. Never rated him in the AHL and still don't now.

So much hate without any logic. What a quality read. Really don't know how to reply to that so I'll just list some bullet points. 1) Tootoo is one of the best middleweight fighters in the league without a doubt. He's also one of the hardest hitters in the league, without a doubt. Anyone who knows their stuff on this subject, which judging by your post isn't you, will back this up. Tootoo was almost unanimously voted the best fighter under 6 foot recently on hockeyfights.com 2) You say he's a defensive liability yet he has the 8th highest +/- on the team and the most of anyone on the bottom 2 lines. 3) He has one minor penalty in 16 games. Your argument of dumb penalties is ridiculous. 4) You seem angry that Ken+Micky and 90% of hockey fans enjoy a good fight. Good. We do and don't care you don't. 5) You seem to be confusing Tootoo with an enforcer but clearly you're talking about a subject you know little about. Middleweights have not been, nor ever will be, enforcers. Bored now.

Never understood why he always got the recalls from Grand Rapids a few seasons back instead of Jamie Tardif. Even in the AHL he was pretty average. Tardif has been recalled to Boston. Hope he does well.

Jamie Tardif has 20 goals in 38 AHL games. Could have been an NHL superstar by now.

You forgot 2 Condescending boring holier-than-thou s***e
