I think what alot of people are missing here is that Lils said in the article that he only remembers the first two punches, which were thrown at the beginning of the fight. So obviously Weber landed one of those punches and Lils was stunned. Hence why he just stood there holding on not moving. We all know Lilja isnt the best of fighters, but he does tend to throw at least 2 punches on average But as GMR would say he proved against Souray 1 punch is all you need

If thats the case, please explain why the team showed so much more energy and willingness to hit when Downey was in the line-up against Dallas? And explain the improved physicality the team showed last season that seems to have dissapeared this season without Downey? (except the Dallas game of course)

I think what we're getting at, is our current 4th liners might not get enough ice time to make a huge difference, but for Downey its almost as much about what he does off the ice as well as on it. Against St Louis tomorrow when Downey's in you can bet your ass the entire team is going to be hitting and grinding like nobody's business

He called Laraque a bad enforcer, not a bad fighter. Laraque is 2nd only to Brashear in terms of fighting skills, but as an enforcer Laraque sucks balls. He thinks his job is to fight and nothing else. Thats why hes gone from Edmonton to Phoenix to the Pens to Montreal in successive seasons.

My man-love for Downey is boundless. So nothing needs to be said there...apart from DOWNEY V LAPPY ROUND TWO BABY!! And good to see Ericsson get a shot. Cant wait to see what he can do. And so long as we see Downey again when we play the Flyers on the 17th I'll be happy But man o man I am so stoked to see Downey back.

I spent most of the game in that chat writing about how any minute Downey was gonna kick somebodys ass. It was good to get a nice dose of Downey again And I love Jamie Tardif. Hes a hard working hard hitting bulldog with some decent skill as well.

Id probably send Leino, Filpulla, Kopecky and Maltby down Id keep Helm cos hes young and gritty, whilst those four just annoy me. Leino could use some more work on his skating and regular 1st line ice time.
