I know, that's messed up.

..he's not Canadian.

I guess the Penguins will have to wait until next year to win the Winter Classic on home ice...

12/31 GDT: Islanders 4 at Red Wings 3 OT)
CopenhagenWing replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Every team's proclaimed starter gets more leeway when it comes to working through a rough stretch. In spite of what people here think, in Babcock's mind Howard is the starting goalie for the Wings and it'll take a massive meltdown for that to change and so far that hasn't happened. While I agree that Osgood could play more often, there is not going to be a 50-50 rotation. -
He sprained his shoulders from celebrating too much last game? It'll be interesting to watch Tatar play.
-
Not surprising. When is the coaching change?

While I wasn't too impressed with Rafalski's bad pass as he was not pressured at all, he didn't trip anybody. That was all Franzen, refs called the wrong player.

Best line I ever saw play.

No, he's got plenty of sportsmanship. It's just not of the kind you're trying to teach your kids.Love him or hate him, Pronger is a gamer.

Possible Winter Classic @ Comerica Park
CopenhagenWing replied to South Dakota wings fan's topic in General
Agreed. The Winter Classic is going to turn into a joke if the NHL is not careful about the team selection. It is to early for the Wings to be in it again while the Rangers haven't played in one yet. -
In Howard's defense, Heatley's goal was a double tip but I agree that he didn't have a strong game.

I realize everybody is clamouring for a sub 2.00 GAA and a .935 SV percentage but numbers like that are becoming rare over the course of a full season. Ultimately, all that matters are wins and as of right now Howard's wins per games started is 77.84 percent while Price sits at 60.90 percent. Talk up Carey Price all you want, I'm content with Howard so far.

When the league expanded from 6 to 12 teams, the original 6 were playing in the East division and the expansion teams were playing in the West division. Scotty Bowman was coaching the Blues, leading them to 3 straight division titles.

My son has had both the original "O" stick (Datsyuk's his favourite) and the 8.0.8. He hasn't had issues with either. Datsyuk's, possibly. Zetterberg uses Easton gear.

Maybe it's that Swedish concept of neutrality that's messing with his head.

Nielsen most likely just responded to something Briere said. Problem is, in most cases, players don't injure each other on purpose. You'd have to prove a deliberate intent to injure.

Brett Hull - Coyotes Super floater started out in Calgary...Cam Neely in Vancouver.

Very different scenarios. You don't think a guy who's been making up to 8 million a year has a bit more financial leeway to take a discount than a guy who topped out at less than a quarter of that.

I went to see the Wings in Atlanta and saw a guy sporting a Krupp jersey.

Congrats to the Germans! In any sport, it's always nice to see "underdogs" shake up things by beating traditionally stronger nations. The hockey World Championship has been largely a 5-6 nation affair for a very long time.
-
That's been the issue all along IMO. While Lidstrom is slowing down, he is still vastly superior to Rafalski defensively.

Denmark makes the quarterfinals for the 1st time ever. Very exciting!

Him, Shanahan and Yzerman deferred salary. They all got their money later on.

Denmark has 2 NHL'ers on the roster. I believe both USA and Finland have more.
