    boo hossa?

I'm a lurker on this forum. I pretty much come to it to find the latest Wings news...but I'm here multiple times a day. To anybody that thinks that booing Hossa is the right move, you are a moron. It's been talked about for multiple times about how much he gave up in the long term for his one season with Detroit and how much he would give up in the long term to play elsewhere. now. He's already lost out on millions to give Detroit a shot.....you guys think he should give up more to stay here instead of Chicago? Come on...it makes no sense. Boo the BlackHawks....nothing wrong with that. But, for any Red Wing fan to boo Hossa on his own his BS. He had an amazing regular season and he was snake bit in the playoffs. I definitley appreciate the bargain he took with us to win the Cup and if/we when this upcoming year I'll wish he had somehow been a part of it. The haters just don't understand how rare it is for a professional athlete in any sport to do what he did last year.

Zetterberg out vs. Vancouver; Helm recalled

This guy you may have heard of named Steve Yzerman wasn't exactly a superstar in achieving that stat either. He was OK wasn't he?

    CBJ's new roster

Don't forget that they traded for R.J. Umberger at the draft.

    Wise words from Mike Babcock

Luckily for us.....you aren't a player on this team.

Holmstrom: Should he have come back to play?

No offense....but who cares if he "should" have came back? Nobody on this board has any idea as to how he was feeling compared to what the coaches and he knows. I'm just glad he came back....it shows he's fine and it also shows the Ducks that we aren't going to be intimidated by how dirty they want to play.

    What are the chances.....

I'm a die-hard follower of all three of these teams so I have a pretty informed opinion..... Red Wings -- I'd give the Wings the second best chance. They still have to face the Ducks and Sabres/Senators, which pretty much means in any series they will be the underdogs. Still...they can beat any of the teams left and only have two rounds. Pistons -- The Pistons have the best chance. They are rolling the Bulls and will do pretty much the same to the Cavs. To the poster that said they can't hang with SA or Phoenix.....you must not watch the Pistons. For one thing, they play a style of ball that is very similar to the Spurs. A series with the Spurs would go 6 or 7 games. I think the Pistons would beat the Suns in 5. The Pistons are a HORRIBLE match-up for the Suns. If you had watched the games these two teams have played against each other the last two years you would see why. The Suns run through Steve Nash....no ifs, ands or buts about it. Chauncey is as tough as a match-up as there is in the NBA for Nash. Chauncey uses his size and strength on both offense and defense to wear down Nash, which result in great games for Billups and poor games for Nash. Tigers -- I'm concerned with the rotation right now, with them missing Zumaya and Rogers for extended periods but at the same time...the team has the same record at this point this year that they did last year. The baseball playoffs are just such a crap-shoot because of how important the pitching is. I give the Tigers the worst chance because baseball has the smallest chance of making the playoffs of any of the three sports. But, if the Tigers do make them....their chances obviously go way up.

    Is re-signing Maltby 3-yrs a BIG MISTAKE?

I think it's a good deal. He's a great penalty killer, an intelligent hockey player, maybe our biggest pest and he steps up his game for the playoffs every year. It's his last contract most likely and he will always bring it in the playoffs which if we've learned anything the past few years...is when it really matters. He's a piece of glue to this team that needs to stick around a little more.

    Sabres @ Rangers GAME 6 : 2:00pm

That's actually the match-up that I've been rooting for all year long. I would absolutley love a Red Wings/Sabers match-up.

    This Shows The Babcock/Lewis Difference...

Let me preface to say that I liked Lewis as a person...but I wasn't a huge fan of his as a coach. But, how would he have done with a team against these Sharks? I'd be shocked if the Wings' hadn't been swept yet. Babcock has instilled a great deal of grit/resolve with this team, while letting the team still employ it's free skating style of hockey. It is just a joy to watch. This Sharks team is TOUGH...and extremely big. But, the Wings' are showing that they aren't scared/intimidated one bit by them. Mike Babcock has to get a great deal of credit for how this series is turning out. Now let's go grab game 5!

Am I the only one freak'out at all of the injuries on the team?

Injuries suck, but they are part of the playoffs. If Homer and Lebda are back for Game 2, but something happens to CheeChoo tonight that forces him to miss Game 2...I'm sure none of us will feel bad for them. Just gotta battle through it.

    Grapes says Dats has no......

As Datsyuk continues to score in the playoffs, the haters on his contract will surely go away just as fast. The worst thing that could happen to Red Wing opponents these playoffs, was for Datsyuk to get that goal in game 1. The flood gates are now open and he is playing with a great level of confidence. Personally, I don't care what Pavel covers up when he's diving to block shots....as long as he's still diving to block shots. He's there to score, play solid defense and win face-offs. If he wants to cover his balls and face as he drops to the ice in an effort to block a 90mph shot, then so be it.

    The way NBC films games

How can you not like the guy in between the two benches? That is a GREAT addition by NBC. He is able to relay to the viewers, what the coaches are saying to their teams and also what players are saying to each other. I highly doubt that he finds it boring standing there by himself and I think most viewers find what he has to say as anything but boring.
