It's good to have Howard back. Even though he hasn't been playing very consistently, he's still a better option than MacDonald. With that being said, I won't be happy until Datsyuk is back.

Granted, most of these "Guardians" have been pretty stupid, but the thing bothers me the most are the powers. Almost every guardian has a main power and then "Oh and he can do this and this and this and this..." Also, someone made an interesting comment on one of the Facebook posts for the project: Why aren't any of the guardians women? I mean, I realize the whole thing is promoting a men's hockey league but I would at least expect to see female guardians for Chicago and Pittsburgh

The Coyotes need scoring so they trade away a young forward for Roszival? I guess I just don't get it unless they're trying to unload salary for some further deals.

I think Arniel refused to put him in the lineup because he's slow, gets out of position too often, and takes stupid penalties. If you're the highest paid defenseman, you had better play like it. I seem to remember that they used him on the powerplay quite a bit, which continued to baffle me. This guy has a poor attitude and I hope his days in the NHL are over.

I'm probably among the few fans who actually have a Helm jersey, but I feel like he's going to be a great offensive player if he works on his shot and offensive decision-making a bit. Either way, I'd still be a huge fan if he remains a 3rd/4th liner the rest of his career. On a side note, is anyone else impressed with Bertuzzi and how he's kind of taken on the role of a mentor to the younger guys? It's great to have these kinds of guys around to help the next core of Wings.

This is why I don't understand people who go, "he doesn't whine, you're all just homers." He complains just as much, if not more than others in the league by simply using the "well others might think that this should have been called or this should have been done" approach so it doesn't seem like he's the one whining about whatever the issue happens to be.

I wasn't really planning on watching the game, mostly because I have to work today until 5. But, now that it's moved to 8 I might watch a little bit. I don't really care about either team but it's nice to be able to watch a game that doesn't involve the Bluejackets (I only have basic cable and FSN Ohio ).

For a month where they have had to play plenty of back-to-back games and losing two of their best offensive producers I'd say they fared pretty well. Of course, we'd all like to see them have a perfect record but above .500 is about what was expected.

Interesting stat: Ovechkin and Crosby now have the exact same total for career points in the NHL (excluding playoffs) at 571. I wonder if Pierre will mention this as well as their junior stats during the game on Saturday.

Without even looking at stats I would expect Darren Helm to have the highest ratio of penalties drawn compared to penalties he's taken.

I've never really liked Devorski anyway, but I'm guessing all of those penalties called on the Jackets were legitimate. I mean, hell, with how little Columbus fans know about hockey he could have had his arm up on a delayed penalty and they could have thought that was giving them the finger.

Jack Edwards has to be the worst/most annoying play-by-play guy in the league. And that's including Jeff Rimer.

Man and I was almost able to make it to the Cyclones vs. Everblades game on Friday. I might have been able to see this monstrosity in person.

Anyone else think Brodeur should retire? The guy obviously doesn't get any help from his D but man, he sure doesn't look very good anymore.

Coming from a league where these type of shootout attempts are commonplace, I don't think he was trying to disrespect anyone. I think he was just doing what he's used to doing. Sorry if your five-hole is a puck-vacuum Ellis. Get over it.

Hopefully this doesn't become a big deal because it's not at all. He just got ahead of himself while thinking of the word, "way" and "white" slipped out. I was expecting something worse, and I think you all know which word I'm talking about...

While the amount of votes that would get through due to people creating multiple e-mail accounts would still be fairly signifcant, I feel like one vote per email address is still the best way to go. Also, I know that they can track IP addresses, so they could even go as far as one vote per IP, which would be far more effective.

I was wondering why I didn't see him out there in the 3rd at the game last night. Hopefully he'll be back sooner than later. Thankfully this team has great depth so I think they'll be fine without him for a while.

I'll be at this game. This is also the weekend Michigan plays Ohio State so I'm expecting to be annoyed my entire time in Columbus. Let's get a win, Wings!

Well I'll be at the game in Columbus tomorrow. They had better show up and win that one. If there's one thing I hate it's Ohio State fans, and I'll be hearing it all night if the Wings lose.

I agree. Modano will start putting up points if he has Abby and Cleary as his wingers. Hudler doesn't fit the style of this team anymore.
