Pekka Rinne is why they haven't lost yet in regulation.

Adam Burish: Chris Pronger Is The Biggest Idiot In The League
Wings_Toledo replied to jeff48109's topic in General
Wow, does he ever sound like a back-pedaling ***** in that video. I hope Pronger crushes him when they play each other. If Burish isn't a healthy scratch, that is. -
Seriously guys, how can anyone watch that first video and think the contact was made to the head first? The hit is CLEARLY shoulder-to-shoulder and Brown kept his elbow down. Also, as was previously mentioned, if that was a hit to the head he would have been down for a while.
-
That hit is clearly shoulder-to-shoulder. What is the debate here?

Brendan Smith nails Nylander from behind
Wings_Toledo replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
I can't believe I didn't notice how funny the title of this thread is when I first clicked on it. -
Cleary - Modano - Abby Hudler - Helm - Eaves Those are the bottom six lines I would like to see if we're looking for offense. I feel like Helm and Eaves have pretty decent chemistry and Hudler could benefit from their hard work. Abby and Cleary would also be a good tandem and create some space so Modano would get better chances.

Brendan Smith nails Nylander from behind
Wings_Toledo replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
I'm assuming that it was just bad luck for Nylander as the article says the hit "appeared to be legal." -
If you watch the video on NHL.com explaining the new rules regarding hits to the head, this one would be deemed legal. The way he leaves his feet afterwards makes it appear borderline, but I would still consider the hit to be legal.

They ought to scratch Brodeur. He is starting to become quite the sieve these days.
-
I don't know if it has to do more with Lebda, or that THIS is the outcome for the Leafs that everyone was expecting to see this season.
-
And the Leafs are now 0-1-1 with Lebda in the lineup. Coincidence?
-
Rick Nash. Could you imagine Nash on a team with defensemen who could actually get him the puck?
-
Speaking of Salei, I haven't been impressed with him so far. He pinches way too much and doesn't look all that solid in his own end. Could just be adjusting to a new team, but he needs to cut down on the mental errors.
-
I didn't watch the game, but it's the quality of the shots, not the quantity that counts. As long as they're going in, I guess.
-
I agree with most of your points except for the 4th line. They did their job and kept the puck in the offensive zone for the majority of the time they were out. No one expects them to score in every game, so they'll get their chances eventually. But yeah, I'm feeling really good about this team. Cleary just looked so much faster and you can tell he's out to prove himself.
-
I just really hope Ozzie plays well, and the team shows up again to help him out. Nothing would be worse than going in there and losing after having to watch them raise the banner.
-
It's possible he could have consistent injury issues and be placed on LTIR. If I'm not mistaken, players on the LTIR don't count against the cap until they come back.

NHL Predicts A Capitals-Red Wings Stanley Cup Final
Wings_Toledo replied to skyphoenix's topic in General
Well, at least they're 50% correct. -
I kinda like this design. I think it would look a lot sweeter if they added a small gold trim around the outside edges.

My PS3 is becoming quite the solid investment as now I can stream games for free on my TV. Sure, the quality isn't HD but it gets the job done. I purchased NHL Center Ice for the past two seasons and it just really wasn't worth it, to be honest. GameCenter is basically the same thing.

You never really know what's going to happen in the East. I think Florida has a shot if they can stay healthy and actually score some goals. I'm not really sold on Tampa yet and the Leafs are going to be just as bad as last year, in my opinion. Edmonton has some good young players, but it all depends on their D.
-
I would venture a guess and say that he'll be a healthy scratch several times during the season. I'd like to see Smith get a game or two this season just to see how he handles himself.
-
The Winter Classic is one thing that bugs me. I understand the NHL's goal to market the game in America by having Ovechkin vs. Crosby. I would just like to see a few Canadian teams get some focus. Like a Toronto vs. Montreal or Detroit vs. Toronto game would be fun to watch, plus you'd get the whole Canada vs. America angle working. I know Calgary is playing Edmonton in an outdoor game, but that almost seems like a, "Here you go, Canada. You get an outdoor game too, I guess."

9/25 Pre-season GDT: Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks
Wings_Toledo replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Can we just send Ericsson down and keep Smith for the regular season? He looks plenty ready to be in the NHL to me, at least when you compare him to Ericsson. Besides, he needs to learn all he can from Lids before he retires. -
Wings release starting lineup for preseason home opener
Wings_Toledo replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I really want Smith to do well and impress the Wings' staff. Everyone knows he won't be up with the team this year, but at the very least he could make Ericsson worry about losing his job. Maybe then he would pick up his game.
