This is a great sign. Very little roster news could make me happier than for Leino to get a spot.

Sucks for Downey, but it's the right move IMO.
-
Maybe Roy could embellish a little more.

It doesn't say that though. It says "player adjudged most valuable to his team." Let's take Washington for example. Ovechkin is quite possible the most valuable player in relative terms because of the quality of his teammates. He may or may not be the best hockey player in the world, but last season, relatively at least, he was probably the player most valuable team. But for the past however-many years, Nicklas Lidstrom has been, in absolute terms, the player most valuable to his team. So what I'm arguing is that the best player in the league IS the most valuable player in an absolute sense. And there's no reason voters can't look at it like that.

The Hart Trophy is supposed to be awared to the "player adjudged most valuable to his team." I may be the minority here, but to me the the player that is most valuable to his team is the best player in the NHL. None of this "great player on an average team" BS, the Hart Trophy should go to the best hockey player. And that's Nick Lidstrom.

Cool article. I expected him to say a different player at the end of the article though.
-
McCarty should lose his spot just for that. Horrible, horrible penalty.
-
Haha that's what I thought too.

That was one of the coolest saves I've ever seen in my life...

I'll bet it at least shows up in YouTube in the next day or 2.

I'm no expert on Finnish pronunciation, but I'm pretty close to certain that's the way to say it.

Good for Teemu. I've always been a huge fan.
-
Pretty sure that's just for the preseason jerseys.
-
Yeah I should have clarified. Only the games with something after the matchup are being broadcast.

These appear to be the only SopCast feeds for tonight:

That's just a gorgeous hit.
-
I honestly thought it would never happen.

Except you can choose not to have your name/number/address published in that crazy hypothetical book.

Right, I said that relatively speaking it's not that expensive. It's still a lot of money, but Nick makes it in about 10 days. Like I said, it's just the status associated with the Bentley name that surprised me about it.
-
I expected a Range Rover and a couple BMWs and Benzes just to kind of blend in a little more with the common (wealthy) man. It's just the status attached to a Bentley even though (relatively speaking) it's not *THAT* much money that made me think he wouldn't have one. Like I said though, I'm not criticizing him for it or anything, I'm only offering the fact that it's something I didn't expect.
-
I'm not saying it makes him any less modest, but it's certainly a display of wealth/status thing, which I didn't expect. I guess that's how I should have phrased it. Not that I'm condemning it in the least, I'm just saying it surprised me.
-
I am VERY surprised that Nick drives a Bentley. He seems far too modest for that.

San Jose defeats Los Angeles on Saturday.
