I didn't see this thread until just now, but I had to comment. I saw this story right after it happened, and it sickened me to no end. This is not sportsmanship, this is just plain not caring about winning. The girl hit a homerun, sure, but the rules say she has to round the bases. I hate to bring the men's vs. women's sports argument, but you know that any guy this happened to would limp or crawl around the bases. I swear to God I would tackle my teammates if they tried this bulls***. It's practically an act of treason. You could tell me that she deserved the home run, and I wouldn't even disagree with you, but she couldn't do the easy part of scoring the run, and that's on her. This really just disgusts me. Sports, despite what people say, are about competing and WINNING. Helping the other team win is never OK. For the media to put these girls on a pedestal is just wrong. They're not brave or courageous or good sports, they're bad athletes and bad teammates.
