I'm not terribly surprised, but this is a horrible decision by the league. They're saying that if you feel you were wronged in some way by another player, you can 2-hand them across the chest and only worry about a fine.

If they really did wait that long, Ribeiro would have to sit out all the games until they officially review it. I'm sure they'll either hand down a decision within the next couple hours or tomorrow morning.

I think you're right on the outcome. As for trying to talk to that ******, I doubt it will do any good since Matt banned him. Also, people need to realize that there is a difference between butt ending and hitting someone with the butt end of your stick. Ozzie did the latter. If it really had been the former, I could see people being more upset about Ozzie's actions.

1) I'm going to guess more commercials. More commercials=more revenue=happier company. 2) That's a really interesting theory. I guess if someone was on the fence about going for the night, that may help convince them to stay home and watch, but I highly doubt that anyone skips going to the game only/mostly so they can watch it on FSN.

Well, the puck did touch Hank's hand. It looks like it might have touched Hank again or another Star after that, but I'm not 100% sure As for Turco's punches, it says that a punch with the blocker MAY result in a match penalty and it's only mandatory if injury results. But I definitely agree with you that what Turco did was at least as bad, if not worse, than what Ozzie did (Because what Ozzie did wasn't bad at all).

I can understand you not liking what Ozzie did, but I want to know what you could possibly suspend him for. And don't say a butt-end, because it wasn't.

Don't be afraid to piss people off with your opinion; you're allowed to have one. That said, I disagree with yours. Osgood's actions notwithstanding, what Ribeiro did was very much suspendable. I don't think provocation, perceived or real, should be taken into account when viewing the slash.

Yeah I just read that article too. TSN seems to think he'll be suspended for it, and they also called Ott out for his rough stuff.

Ozzie was not cheap. That's what goalies do when somebody's about to get run, they try to protect them a little bit. Turco was playing like a douchebag, but he wasn't doing anything terribly dangerous. What Ribeiro did was both stupid and dangerous though. Regardless, even if Ozzie "started it" that's not an excuse for Ribeiro's actions.
