I think it has something to do with Dallas having a game to spare, in effect. It doesn't seem quite as cheap to the refs for SJ to win on a PP as it does for Dallas to end the series probably.

So true. The ball's in play like 12 minutes during a 2 and a half hour game so they have to do something to pass the time.

It went way past 3, but they only played 8 min OT periods. I think it went to 8 OTs actually.

We're getting close to the point where the announcers start to get slap-happy and talk about retarded s***. (Which happens to be one of my favorite things about really long games)
