I didn't mean to say it was a positive thing by any stretch of the imagination. I mean it's a whole lot more likely with so many people, so close, taking the game so seriously. It's definitely pathetic, but that doesn't mean I kind find some humor in it.

A lot of times teammates end up splitting votes, so we'll see. I don't care which one of Hank or Pavs wins it, I just want one of them to.

Not hilarious that it happened so much as hilarious in his bad luck/beer magnetism. I also think it's funny because of how horrible Flyers fans are. They rip jerseys off of opposing teams' fans. They do it to women and kids, they make fun of kids there, they call kids' moms names there. They're really just terrible fans. Yes, it's a jackass thing to do, but it's also sort of poetic justice, too. But you can't compare it to someone throwing coffee at you in your office. Do you have 20,000 people watching you while you work, mere feet away and cheering every time you do something good? I'm not saying it makes it OK what happened, I'm just saying it makes it different.

To say just one reason is tough, because there are easily dozens of reasons I could name. But if I must, I'll kind of go with the passion angle: The fact that grown men care so much, that they want something so bad that they're willing to literally fight for it. That players will sacrifice any part of their body to stop the other team from scoring. I just love when players show that nothing else in the world matters except winning. I can't understand why everyone in the world wouldn't watch just because of that.
